This is the greatest place in the wood. My family has hunted and camped here for over 40 years we've name ALL the roads, like Mel's road, doe knob ect. As kids we hunted for big foot "pretty sure we found his home as kids" hunted deer respectively as adults. Just an amazing place.

Tough area to navigate. The area is still recovering from previous forest fires. Lovely to gaze at, but I didn't spot any trails that would have made exploring the area a bit more feasible.

Heavy brush, even on the more remote parts of FS Road 400. No easy trail all the way to the lake.
