Hilton Garden Inn Eugene/Springfield

Nothing special about this place. The employees were helpful but only after we got their attention...and there were never any other customers in the lobby when we approached them. The internet was down for the first 2 hours with no notification or estimated time of repair. In-room coffee service was cheap k-cup coffee (only one pod was actual coffee) and a wanna-be keurig-type maker. We were somewhat disappointed after paying more for a better hotel. Food & drinks: There is a bar and a grill but you have to go down and order. No online or telephone orders.

Serious issues here; beds have a down-sized mattress and I hurt my leg trying to walk around the hard, protruding bedframe. Another issue was calling for directions and the guy that answered the phone didn't know his way around town! "Hilton" is supposed to mean something, but this is just another Motel.

Edit 2024: On my most recent stay at this hotel, I was awakened at 1 am to the sound of a smoke alarm next door. I was on business and had to report at 4am. Needless to say this cut into my rest. After not being able to go back to sleep (as the alarm never went off) I got dressed and opened my room door to find a barrage of the Springfield police department with guns drawn. They allowed me to pass through the hallway. Once in the lobby hotel management tells me that police is breaking down door and spraying pepper spray. 5 minutes later the police escort said guest in handcuffs. I asked for hilton points as a reimbursement for the inconvenience and was only given 10000 points which is not enough for a night's stay in any Hilton property. I am livid. In this situation the hotel should have made it right for me. Take your money elsewhere..... this hotel needs a complete overhaul. Shuttle driver is super friendly and rooms are always clean.
