This store and its wonderful, friendly, and charismatic owners quite literally saved our lives. My family had plans to stay in a cabin in the mountains nearby for a week, but our SUV got stuck in the snow and mud before we got there. Unfortunately, this then left us stranded for 5 days before we started to run low on fuel. After exhausting all our options, we made the reluctant decision to hike the 13 miles down the mountain to Bear Market. In mid-30 degree weather with rain pouring down on us for the entire 12 hour walk. Our two dogs and young son were exhausted at the end of this hike, as were my wife and I. Unfortunately, we didn't get to Bear Market until 3am, 6 hours after they closed. Desperate, cold, and scared, we called out for help at the door. The owners quickly appeared, were sympathetic to our plight, and opened the store to us so that we could come in, change into our warm clothes, and stay dry and warm. They also provided a blanket and water for our dogs, and stayed up the entire night with us as we arranged and waited for a tow truck (using their phone they graciously offered use of) to get our car unstuck. Words cannot express the appreciation and gratitude I have toward this wonderful establishment and its owners. This is truly a gem of a store and deserves all the customers they can get. Aside from our unique circumstances this trip, the store itself has a decent selection of last-minute camping items, firewood, drinks, etc. Prices are quite reasonable, similar to those in Canyonville. Some fun trinkets and toys too, and the owners are quite knowledgeable about the area and its residents. Definitely a must-visit store for sure.

High prices. It's 22$ +Tax for an 18 pack of Busch beer. But the owners and staff are nice people. But I'd rather just go to canyonville and get everything you need
