Literally eat here for 6 weeks as I work the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival every March/April. Its located in a retirement/golf community. If you know, you know. Staff is excellent. Menu is so diverse, pasta, seafood, comfort food, big salads, sandwiches, burgers, breakfast ALL DAY! And a dozen fresh pies all week. All you can eat fish and chips, prime rib and rid specials on the weekends. Coke products, thank goodness !! The owners care about family time for their staff so are closed Sundays and holidays.

Stopped on our way through town. The service was great, but the food was just ok. Nothing to write home about. Vegs seemed to be frozen vegs with no flavor and soggy. Breakfast items were ok, but dinner plates weren't very good. Roast beef was very tough and dry. Mashed potatoes were so so. Don't think I will be returning. At least not for dinner.

Used Google to search for Family Diner while out driving around and this sounded interesting. When I got there I realized that it was the restaurant for the golf club at the sprawling Woodburn retirement Village which has been in existence for decades. I was hungry and went in anyway. Standard American faire is actually somewhat difficult to find in Woodburn. The staff is friendly. And the view is of the golf course. The decor is sort of a country cottage style. They only are open until mid afternoon. There was a full menu choice. Of breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers, and grill items. I chose the braised Tenderloin in gravy over egg noodles. It came with a green salad or house soup. The salad I received was fresh and crispy. It was garnished with some canned beets and shredded cheese. The blue cheese dressing was fine. I noticed that several tables that came in after me had already received their food. They had ordered breakfast items and burgers. I asked and the wait staff curtly responded that its still cooking sir. I can only surmise that the item I ordered was not standard and took a little more time to prepare. I did not time it but it felt like it took too long. When it arrived it was steaming hot and well cooked. There was a dollop of sour cream on top to mix in if I chose to. The serving size was large the beef chunks were plenty and flavorful. I did feel that the meat was just a little bit chewy. Sirloin can be that way. The noodles were fine. There was a mix of customers but obviously catering towards the retirement community. There were return customers because some of the wait staff were giving customers hugs as they were leaving. The pricing was actually quite reasonable. I do think that I would go back again given the opportunity. As a side note. I had a large amount of take home. So I sauted some mushrooms and onions and added it to the mix then put in some Hungarian Paprika and it turned out pretty good. Parking: Several Handicap parking spaces but in a retirement community they may be all occupied during busy meal times Wheelchair accessibility: Double front doors but not automatic.
