Sabrina hired me to do her bankruptcy, which went through without a hitch and she received her Discharge. After her bankruptcy was over, she wanted help with a student loan which was on her bankruptcy papers (a public record). Student loans are usually not dischargeable, but some are. In order to determine what kind of student loan it was I needed to review her student loan papers, which she did not provide. I have to help my clients who have crises first. I did not always respond to her immediately, but I always responded. I was not hired or paid to work on her problem, but I did legal research on her behalf. Before I finished a case came down that was not favorable to what she wanted to do. I sent her a copy of that case and also written directions on how to try to fix the problem outside of bankruptcy, without having to pay a lawyer. It is not my fault that she didn't give me the documents I needed. This one star review is not fair.

This is simply not true. It is a matter of public record that I filed his case on an emergency basis to stop a wage attachment. When you emergency file a case, you don't have all of your client's information yet. When we got the information, we learned that he had too much income to qualify for a simple "fresh start" chapter 7. However, there is an obscure exception for veterans, which many other bankruptcy lawyers may not have known about. I advised him that it was 50/50 that the exception would work, and it was therefore worth a shot. As he agreed to in writing, I sent him a bill for the extra work (at a reduced fee), which he did not pay. We lost, but I gave it my best work. I absolutely explained all of his options and possible outcomes. He chose to take an option which did not make economic sense, against my advice.I have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
