Wasted nearly 2 years, mishandled simple paperwork , nearly impossible to communicate with, and made our issues WORSE. We even had a competent attorney lend advice but Legal Aid was incapable of doing even simple filing. The opposite of helpful and absolutely not an alternative to an actual law firm.

Second experience with them. The first time last year they told me they only handle landlord-tenant cases and had no idea who could help me with my legal issues, but wished me luck. This time calling for a different issue, the receptionist after asking me how much I made said that I should just pay out of pocket and get things over with. Who is running this place?

I went to legal aid for help with unemployment. I talked to the intake lady, the attorney that contacted me was Cassidy Heiserman, we spoke on the phone she told me she would do what she could to help me but afterwards I felt uneasy after our conversation. She advised me that I missed the deadline to file my appeal but she would still help me. I explained why I couldnt file the appeal, it was a reason behind that. I felt uneasy about it so I emailed Cassidy, she then emailed me back telling me how she couldnt help me and how I contacted legal aid for help after my deadline for appeal. I realized she didnt even try to help me, she lied on the phone and if I didnt contact her again myself, I wouldnt have heard back from her, she sent me an email telling me what I did to inconvenience her lol I decided to help myself again, I contacted unemployment again and they seen that indeed, I wasnt able to file an appeal online and even though I missed the deadline, it was of no fault of my own. Legal aid all you had to do was try to help but instead yall lazy and dont really want to help anyone, if I needed help filing a appeal I could do that myself, I dont need help doing that, what people really need is help when it comes to circumstances like this. I will never again contact this office for help. They arent anything but time wasted
