Mark S Tyma DDS

I'm writing this as I'm no longer a patient because of relocating for work, but I want to share my experiences. I was a long time patient of Dr. Tyma from 4th grade all the way until I moved out of state for work (with a few switches here and there, but always going back). From a young age, Dr. Tyma and all his staff (receptionists, hygienists, and himself) make you feel like you're part of their family. They're welcoming, friendly, and outgoing to ensure you have a great experience. Dr. Tyma is also one of the most comprehensive and knowledgeable dentists I've ever come across, and I've used multiple dentists due to moves and insurance switches. He examines your whole mouth, jaw and neck muscles to ensure you aren't grinding or mashing your teeth, and that your muscles are working and moving properly. When I was a kid his practice used to accept insurance, so we made him our family dentist. A few years later, and the degradation/ greed of the insurance industry started rising up, we had to switch because his practice made the decision to no longer accept any insurance. They will process your insurance claim and you get reimbursed, but they no longer initially processed through insurance so payment needed to be up front. Unfortunately my family needed to switch to an in-network provider so for a few years I jumped around to different dentists, and then while in college and then out of college with a job. Not finding a dentist that I liked or seemed fully qualified/ knowledgeable I went back to Dr. Tyma. It was almost like I didn't leave. They welcomed me back, asked how I was doing and remembered who I was even after years of being away. I even moved into Philadelphia for work and tried another dentist for both a cleaning and a cracked tooth, however the cleaning hurt and the bonding they used on the tooth broke within months. I went to Dr. Tyma and he fixed it and it has stayed fixed to this day. I then made the decision that I was going to make him my dentist despite having to drive an hour outside of Philly to see him. Years later, my work moved me to VA so it has made it next to impossible to continue to see him. I have found another dentist that is similar to him, his staff, and his skills but it still doesn't match the level of care and expertise that his practice shows. If you are local to the area or even Philadelphia, I would recommend Dr. Tyma as your dentist. If you have a HSA or FSA I'd consider using those funds as you'll get reimbursed from dental insurance. It may be hard for those that need to pay up front, but I made it work while I was around.

I have been a patient for many years and have always been treated so well. Their work on my mouth has been like a miracle after poor results from a Florida dentist when we lived down there. I have recomended them to several people (friends and family) with wonderful results as well.

What I like most about Tyma Trachtenberg Dental: Mark S Tyma DDS's practice is that Dr. Tyma is always giving me the newest and best dental care available. I appreciate the approach he takes to treat problems. Thank you for everything!

I've been a patient of Dr. Tyma for quite some time and it's always a pleasure when I go in for routine dental appointments. Scheduling is a breeze and they always get me in and out with ease. I highly recommend them!
