Peaceful park with newly paved walkways. Great place to walk or just sit and relax.

A friend recommended Owls Nest Park to hike with my son. The park has paved paths, one which leads you past a small duck pond to a bridge that runs over the creek Once you are over the bridge there is a short distance to a schools property. We doubled back and found a dirt trail that runs along the creek. Then suddenly we were very off trail and we could go no further. Im not sure it was more than a deer trail and it was hard to follow. We were caught up in some pricker bushes at one point. We made our way back and returned to the parking area. I saw another paved path on the other side so we dropped our back packs and walked it. There are informative signs about local nature and wildlife. It was not really a hike but a nice walk on a brisk morning. You can wear sneakers if you stay on the paved paths. It is short, pretty and clean but if you are a hiker as we are, this is not considered hiking! Restrooms: They were closed though likely because it is winter.
