The Commons

My time at The Commons was an absolute nightmare, and I strongly advise anyone considering this place to look elsewhere. The exorbitant rates they charge are completely unjustified given the horrendous condition of the property. Let's start with the supposed high-speed Wi-Fi they boast about on their website. It's a complete sham. The Wi-Fi is excruciatingly slow and unreliable, making it impossible to complete even the simplest online tasks. Their claims of fast internet are nothing but false advertising. Additionally, The Commons' claim of having "impeccable" grounds couldn't be further from the truth. The moment you step outside your unit, you're greeted by a landscape littered with trash and discarded alcohol bottles. The parking spaces are no better, scattered with broken glass that poses a safety hazard to both residents and their vehicles. To make matters worse, the dumpster areas are perpetually overflowing, with trash strewn all over the place. This not only creates an unsightly and unsanitary environment but also attracts animals, leading to additional problems. It's evident that The Commons lacks any sense of responsibility when it comes to maintaining a clean and hygienic living space for its tenants. Moving inside the units doesn't provide any respite from the disappointment. The walls and ceiling were coated in smudge marks, indicating a complete lack of care from the management in maintaining even the most basic cleanliness standards. The kitchen cabinets were even worse, covered in layers of grease and grime that clearly hadn't been cleaned in ages. But the real kicker was the state of the kitchen table chairs. They were falling apart, missing numerous supports, and had been haphazardly glued back together. It was a safety hazard waiting to happen, with sharp wood sticking out and posing a risk of injury to anyone who dared to sit on them. This level of neglect and disregard for tenant safety is inexcusable. Furthermore, I must highlight the issue with the carpets. The Commons claims to clean them and even deducts money from your security deposit for that service, but in reality, they don't clean them properly. When I went back into my old apartment, I noticed that all the stains from the previous year were still there. Another issue is them painting the walls. They clearly paint over the holes from pins and tacks in the wall and neglect to address the underlying issues, because they are lazy, leaving the walls looking unprofessional and the holes still present. To top it all off, it became apparent that The Commons was only interested in squeezing every penny out of its tenants. When it came time to move out, they were quick to find any excuse to deduct exorbitant amounts from our deposit fees, leaving us feeling ripped off and taken advantage of. Overall, my experience at The Commons was an absolute disaster. The exorbitant rates are not justified by the deplorable conditions of the property. From the false promises of high-speed Wi-Fi to the littered grounds, overflowing dumpsters, filthy walls, hazardous furniture, uncleaned carpets, and unprofessional wall painting, it's clear that The Commons prioritizes profits over the well-being and satisfaction of its residents. Spare yourself the misery and find a more reputable and caring place to call home.

The commons is a good place for those coming from for school to live. Safe environment and an opportunity to make new friends. Housing comes with good amenities too!

The Commons @ Dunmore has been my choice of apartment for the past 2 yrs. Management is responsive and quick to resolve issues. Nice community and would recommend to incoming students.

the commons is a very convenient place to stay! it is very affordable with a lot to offer to its residents! there are fun activities hosted to welcome students such as movie nights, a trip to the montage mountain waterpark, etc. i highly recommend looking into the commons as a place for you!
