My father passed away on the 12/8, his life insurance was through Erie bankers life. After looking through some of his belongings we were able to locate his agents name and number, her name was Jacinta. She was out of the Erie office. Our first meeting with her, she cancelled minutes before she was supposed to arrive. When we finally saw her for the second meeting she was dramatically, without contacting my brother to let him know she would be late. During this time, she was clueless to anything that had to do with our father. During this meeting she stated that she was unaware that our father had any issues with his heart, which he had records stating everything that he had going on. I fully believe she was trying to take advantage of him. After a short conversation with her at our fathers house she proceed to try to sell my brother’s life insurance for themselves instead of handling the matter at hand. She never followed up, she was very unprofessional. After several attempts to reach her, my brother who is the POA contact other agents at the office to try to see what was going on. Christy was the next agents name, after speaking with my brother she came to Meadville promptly to try to help him out. She stated she would take care of everything. Needless to say this individual didn’t uphold her promise to our family. We have called her on several different occasions without any reply. The next step for my brother was to call cooperate, when he finally reached someone they stated they had never received the death certificate. Jacinta was given the death certificate! How do you not turn in documents I’ll never know. Finally, Dan was able to speak with a lady named Karen who informed him that they did have the certificate, that she would get this taken care of and give him a call Monday. Well its Thursday and still nothing. Can someone please explain how this company even functions, there’s no communication between staff, and surely no communication to the families. Not only has my family suffered a tremendous loss of our father but we haven’t even been able to grieve. The stresses that have been added by this company is outrageous, banker’s life is supposed to help you when you lose a family member during a horrible time in your life but instead they just add more issues to the already stressed out family. I would never recommend this company. I truly hope that a manager of some form tries to take control of this company before another family has to go through what we are going through. How hard is it to do your job? if I could give 0 stars I would have

Good luck trying to talk to anyone in the Erie office!! You get shuttled off to some 800-number where you're on the line for 20 minutes. I'm trying to locate some investment info for my Dad and the Erie office only EVER has an answering machine---no people to talk to! Rotten local customer service! Don't invest with these people! Once they get your $, they treat you like an afterthought! Would give them a zero if I could!!

I've been with Bankers for 23 years and will retire here. Positive, customer first, family oriented culture. It's hard to find that in today's business world.
