Any online valuation or discussion via phone is based on the limited information we receive from customers and is not a firm offer to buy a vehicle. We have this written in our website disclaimers, our FAQ’s, and in emails sent to our customers regarding valuations. Like any other reputable buyer we must perform a physical appraisal checking the vehicle’s mechanical, structural, and safety features. If we find damage we were previously unaware of we reserve the right to include that when calculating our firm offer in-branch. Unlike car dealerships that take your vehicle around back while you wait in the showroom, we invite our customers to join us during this process so they can see what we see. We are concerned that there was a breakdown in communication. From the detailed notes, photos, and videos there was undisclosed damage discovered during the appointment, however, the majority of it appears to be from the Airbag / SRS light being illuminated on the dashboard. This light means there is a problem with the vehicle’s safety system and the airbags may fail to deploy in the event of an accident. It’s a major safety concern and one that will negatively impact a vehicle’s value. We want all our customers to have a 5-star experience and a disconnect and miscommunication like this can certainly impact your experience.
