Kevin Bass DMD Cosmetic and Family Dentistry

First, think this is most likely my first review ever! I needed an emergency visit, also. Had minimal time as a out of country trip was being planned to leave in 2 days. I broke a tooth. I'm new to the area and didn't have a dentist or even dental insurance. Everyone in this practice from the front desk to the assistant/ tech, to Dr. Bass couldn't have been nicer. Nicer. I always felt comfortable with the doctor's knowledge and techniques. I can't believe they got me in. Worked on me between other patients and I am able to go on my trip with at least a temporary fix.

Just had six month check up and filling done. Beth and Sarah are wonderful technicians and Dr Bass is a pro as well as very congenial. If you are looking for a dentist I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Bass is a great guy, along w/ this staff. Super friendly! My only complaint is this: I was looking for a new dentist (my last one was not honest) and I reached out to Dr. Bass. I asked the secretary if they take my insurance, sent over the info and they said yes. The first visit ended, I went to secretary and said do I owe anything? They said nope and I left, scheduling two small procedures I needed. I got my first procedure and it was around 400$, I asked if insurance would cover this and she said they'll get it sent to them and mail me back what they will cover I thought that was a little odd but came in for my next procedure and I had just had an insurance meeting at work about how they cover 50% of procedures. I brought this up, and the secretary told me they actually dont take any insurance. I said "well I asked this before I came here" She told me its impossible anyone said they take my insurance because they don't take any insurance. Needless to say, I now owe 408 dollars for my first cleaning. I am not saying someone tricked me, but I would have never gone to a dentist that said they don't take my insurance lol. I called about 10 dentists that day, asking the same question. So I will not be going back, he is a good guy, but be aware they don't take insurance, regardless what the secretary says.

So grateful and appreciative of Dr Bass and his entire team. I decided on a procedure and felt very excited to get started. However, before my procedure and i did more research and on the day of my procedure Dr Bass explained to me again instead of ignoring my concerns. That was very thoughtful of him to understand that my mind changed in the last minute. In fact, he went through other options for me and gave me time to decide.

honestly, be very careful if you go to this dentist. friendly staff, but read the 1 star reviews. they all had the same problem, and i shouldve done my due diligence. i was looking for new dentist, called around, and asked if they took my insurance. they said yes, i said great and came for a cleaning. as i left i asked if i owed anything, they said Nope you are all covered. nothing about "oh we will send you a bill" or anything, and set up my next appointment which was a procedure. I paid immediately after the first procedure, which reinforced, "ah my insurance covered my cleaning like its supposed to" why would you not charge me anything after the first cleaning to only send me a bill 2 months later for 480 dollars? does this not sound somewhat disingenuous? I remember even asking "oh wow so it was all covered?" and they said yep! i went for the second procedure after spending 400 on the first and asked why my insurance isn't covering more. they told me oh they dont take insurance and no one would have ever told me that. so now i owe a bill over 500 dollars FOR A SINGLE CLEANING. but don't worry, because i was a new patient, they were so kind they reduced 100$ for me. how sweet. now its 470....for a cleaning. honesty is gone in this world. i don't know if it was on purpose they lied to me or a simple misunderstanding but if I were you, i would go to literally any other of the 15 dentist offices on broad street the previous dentist i left was also a swindler and was so happy after my first appointment w/ dr. bass.....honesty is very rare in this day and age and just as true in at this dentist office.
