I was really surprised by this park- driving out this way, I was not expecting a dedication of resources to stream restoration along the banks of the Conodoguinet that we sawwe started out on the northwestern section walking along the path and I was surprised at the restoration obvious evidence of generational pollution but nature is in the process of reclaiming- so then we walked around and I found the boards indicating restorative work along the creek beds to improve the aquatic habitat. Saw and heard numerous native birds as well- bird boxes located throughout the park-The kids caught a good many brook and native trout today l, saw some eye candy palominos leftover from the trout derby- mayflies were active, trout were jumping- most of our interest is in the native plants and aquatic habitats- it was nicely done along with the bank restructuring. The park itself has many amenities- port a pottys at various locations, pickleball court, baseball fields, horseshoe pits, playground, pavilions, large parking area and it was nice because you have to intend to drive there, not an afterthought park. We enjoyed our time there.
