Install America

We had a free estimate. The salesman who came to the house was wonderful! He spent three hours with us, measuring out our bathroom and showing us options for a remodel. When none of the flooring options suited our taste, he called to see if they could source flooring more to what we wanted. He went above and beyond. When it got interesting was when it came time to close the sale. He presented us with immediate quotes, guaranteed max and an allocated advertising price that's lower if you're willing to post a sign in your front yard and leave a 5 star Google review. He spat out the request for the 5 star review quickly, clearly embarrassed about having to ask for it. We also had to close the deal right then and there. When we showed hesitation, he called a manager whom we spoke to on speakerphone. This guy was a typical used car salesman who gave a better deal plus a price match guarantee if we found another contractor with a lower price at the "same quality". This told me they still had room on price and no reason they couldn't guarantee it and give me time to compare. I didn't like being pressured and would not make a commitment before having time to research. I researched Install America. Complaints of shoddy workmanship and unfulfilled warranty claims. You have to dig a bit to find the Google reviews. They've split their websites so reviews don't appear upon an initial search. I also met with other contractors. We ended up going with a local business. So why leave a poor review for Install America if I didn't use them? I wasn't going to, I am leaving this review many months after contacting them. We've been relentlessly hounded by Install America with calls and texts. We've responded to many to try to stop them but can't speak with an actual person. I finally called Install America directly, there are two automated options only, either if you are a current customer with ongoing or completed work, or if you want to schedule a fee consultation. I couldn't get through to anyone and hung up. A few minutes later I got a call from Install America saying I had put in a request for a free estimate. I explained to the man on the phone we'd already had an estimate and gone with a different company and they would not stop contacting us and asked to be removed form the call list. He said, "OK, thank you" and promptly hung up on me. Ten minutes later I received a call, again saying I had put in a request for a free estimate. I explained the situation again and added in about the last phone call. She apologized for her coworker and said she'd mark our numbers as "do not call". Ten minutes later I got a text message about me requesting a quote and then a few minutes later received a voicemail from the same representative. This is a company that uses high pressure sales tactics, has poor reviews and does its best to hide them, and will relentlessly contact you while giving you as few options as possible to contact them unless it is for a sales opportunity. From the reviews I've seen online, they do low quality work and do not honor their warranty. From my own experience, they are a shady and shiesty company that will pressure a sale and deflect any negative feedback. I have known what it is like to be subject to a big company's expectations through my own career and I feel bad for the employees of Install America who are forced to ask for 5 star reviews because the company knows they need to raise their status and for the employees who don't know what else to do with upset customers, or potential customers, aside from just hang up on them. Dealing with Install America has been a months long ordeal and we didn't even use them! I cannot express how grateful I am we did not use them for our home renovation! Part of me feels I am being unfair by leaving a review on a company I didn't hire but a bigger part of me feels the need to warn people away from a company that cares nothing more than making a sale as quickly as possible with high pressure tactics and in the least regard towards their customers.

Install America was professional timely and friendly. The process was on schedule and Bill the Branch Manager kept the project moving along. They installed the large front door and cleaned up the job-site working around the weather.

The installer Robert was extremely efficient, very courteous and thorough. He made sure the dropcloth was covering the carpet and floors, and Robert did a very nice job cleaning up after. I would definitely ask for Robert if I ever got any more work done from install America. Unfortunately, it took three weeks to finish the bathroom project, which was not Roberts fault.

i would not recommend install america to anyone. trying to get a hold of anyone when you have any questions or issues , but sales people of course, is ridiculous, i think id have a better chance at talking to a celebrity . the contractors however which is why this is 5 stars not the company itself , they would barely get 1 star, were a very nice couple . I love that you paid attention to what i wanted and always asked for my input. only had some small issues which werent a huge thing, but the window they installed , which i waited til the next day bc i was told dont touch it, wouldnt stay shut or open they kept slamming down on me and it was cold outside . you cant get in touch with anyone for assistance but sales people from the company who called me right away of course . i had to temporarily put a piece of styrofoam to hold a brand new window closed , so i wouldnt freeze bc it was attached to my bedroom. the contractor at least responded to me which they were the only ones , besides sales people to respond to me in a timely manner , even on her day off to at least know they heard me. . thank you to my contractors NOT Install America .
