My go-to camera store

So is it a little dramatic to say that Unique Photo changed my life? Maybe. But still truthful. My friends and I were strolling past and the store caught my eye, so we stopped in - it was clearly film-friendly even from the outside. But I didnt expect a store on the level of a supplier for artists, hobbyists, professional photographers and everyday snapshotters, equally outfitted for digital and film minded folks. Ok, great. But how did it change my life? I lost all my film and darkroom gear and negatives and prints over the years to a few basement floods and the pressures of the day. Eventually I gave up. That was 30 years back or so. I walked in, the talented and passionate crew told me about The Halide Project -where I could go to use their darkrooms and gear, they showed me Ilford Ortho film, which Im now hooked on, and let me handle a bunch of cameras. And just like that, I was back. At 54, I have my camera back and am discovering all the cool new film techniques and community that just didnt exist 30 years ago. I cant say enough good things about this place! How lucky we are in Philadelphia to have somewhere to go,IN PERSON!, for help with photography and printing questions. I spent an hour with Caleb to find out if and how the Canon printer could print photos directly from my phone before I made a decision to buy one. He was extremely patient ( considering what a technological idiot I am! )and also showed genuine interest in what I was trying to achieve. I ended up with a good problemin that I also had their print person, Austin, print one of my photos as a comparison, and was blown away by what he was able to achieve, which was nothing short of brilliant ! I look forward to a long association with this place! Maria

A wonderful store with an enthusiastic knowledgeable staff always eager to assist with any questions. The store is always inviting and the customer service is obviously an important priority. Highly recommended,
