Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia for two nights and were initially very happy with how clean (it was not carpeted which was great for my allergies!), bright and quiet the room was. When we checked in, we made it clear to the person at the front desk that we needed our room serviced daily because of my allergies, and she assured us that she had made a note of that. However, we realized that our room hadn't been serviced when we came back to the room the next day at about 3:30pm (we had left in the morning at 10am). When we called the front desk to rfind out what had happened, the front desk person Patrick was terribly unhelpful. He was very matter-of-fact about it, saying that he wasn't sure he could find anyone to service our room at that time of day. Of course we understood that, but it would have gone down much better with us if he had at least shown some empathy for the inconvenience and discomfort we were experiencing. He even asked us what it was exactly that we wanted, which was incredulous! We told him that we would like to have the room serviced, and if that was not possible, that it'd be great to have the trash bins emptied and fresh towels delivered. He said he would get that done, so we decided to just hang out in the lobby to wait for the cleaning service and/or fresh towels to be delivered. After about 10 minutes, Patrick called out to us that the towels had been delivered. My husband went up to the room to check - no towels!!! When I told Patrick about that, he claimed that the towels couldn't be sent to our room because we weren't in it, which wasn't what he had told us earlier. It was incredibly frustrating for us because we had just spent an hour trying to get the kind of service that any hotel should provide, to no avail. So, if you are looking for a decent hotel with good front desk service, this is definitely not the hotel for you!
