My Father was there for 10 days for rehabilitation this time. 2 years ago it was for 3 weeks. I highly recommend Encompass for any family member who is looking to go home sooner rather then later. The nursing staff is wonderful along with the food that is served for meals.

Terrible place. Most nursing staff seemed very inadequate. After arriving there after having major spinal surgery, they let me lay in my urine soaked bed 9 times in 4 days . I ended up with a sacral slit. Very painful and a skin breakdown is an opportunity for infection (SEPSIS) I feel I was discharged way too soon. 77 years old, live alone, couldn't do steps in my large house. I would like a reply.

Horrible that grandparents who have to come here to rehabilitate can't have their day get better by seeing their grandkids because they won't allow people under 18 in the facility. Even Reading Hospital allow kids in. Rediculous!

This is a two-part review; I was a patient here about a decade ago while it was HealthSouth and I was rehabilitating from major surgery from an MVA. I was in my 20s at the time and this is primarily a center for geriatric patients - I believe this was the root cause of the dietary oversight that contributed to me becoming medically underweight during my short stay. I was malnourished and continually hungry, but the pain and effort of therapy made this a background issue. More recently, an immediate family member ended up here ultimately as a result of a medication with harmful side effects. I voiced my experience and concerns with the new staff at what is now Encompass. After the first night, it was clear that things wouldn't work out for a variety of reasons, so I initiated immediate discharge. The patient was urged to sign a number of forms and upon reviewing them, one of them did not have a signature field; it was explained that this was an "equivalent" form and the assistant simply drew a line to be signed. I refused to sign the form, as well as any others, on sheer principle. The assistant became confrontational and was escorted out of the room by another. Why on earth would I sign a form that is not the right one, that has a hastily added signature field?

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! if I could give 0 stars I would. My grandfather was put in this facility after having a stroke. He was here for a few weeks. For starters the first night he was here they FORGOT to feed him. When his daughter came in and asked where his food was it was on a dirty tray ready to go back to that cafeteria. They didnt even offer him it when we mentioned they didnt feed him they gave us an excuse and gave him his food tray COLD! My grandfather could not speak due to his stroke but has other ways of communication. We had a RN tell us they didnt know how to work his feeding tube because it was different than the ones they see there. We had to wait over an hour for pain meds when he was in excruciating pain and at one point also refused to give him pain meds. Rachelle was very rude and condescending. We had a security officer kick family out after we had special circumstances to stay after hours. Not only did he kick us out but then proceeded to stay in the room while the nurse supervisor was reading off his medical chart which is a HIPPA VIOLATION! the nurse supervisor was beyond rude and proceeded to talk under her breath about the family. I then brought this up to rachelle and she made an excuse once again about how the security officer signs a wavier so they are allowed to listen to medical information after I told her we didnt want anyone to know his chart other then nurses she did not care. This facility does not answer nighttime phone calls to check on your loved ones. My grandfather was left out in the hallways for hours without being changed the nurse left him out from 4-4:30 to 7pm without being changed he was so wet he soaked right through his pants into his wheelchair they left his bib on him and the staff just walked right by him with food all over himself. The nurse then proceeded to tell me he was only out there for one hour which was a flat out lie. He even shook his head no that she was lying. She then proceeded to tell my grandfather that he wasnt her only patient and she had other things to do! After leaving him by himself for hours without changing him. He was very raw from this. We had one nurse LOGAN who was absolutely amazing. She cares so much about her patients. This facility dropped the ball from day one do not put your loved ones here! Very uncaring place the management team is absolutely ridiculous and very condescending does not care about anything but the money from your visit here.
