Told me I needed special breakers and the job would be 700-1000. Not knowing I was an EM in the navy. Got another electrician to come out and tell me splicing was NEC compliant and up to code.Told me I needed special breakers lol ... I yelped and found him when I was selling my house. Not a guy I'd wanna deal with for work.

Finding the right home services people is always tough.  Plumbers, Electricians, etc. all have good reviews and bad.  I guess maybe all businesses do but I find these trades particularly difficult to judge.  After trying unsuccessfully to get an electrician we previously used to do some work for us ("I can get to you in 4-6 weeks"), a friend suggested Michael Suriani.  I was pleasantly surprised by his modest yet confident approach to the job.  He showed up when he said, was professional and did a super job.  One part of the project required pulling some wires through our very old house which posed a lot of challenges.  It took a while but he got it done and the result is outstanding (fixing a long-standing problem).  I will definitely call Michael again when the need arises and feel comfortable recommending him without qualification.
