My fiance and I looked at Bristol harbor inn and Dewolf Tavern for our wedding venue. We received really poor service. It took about one month to get in contact with the woman in charge of the weddings / events. My fiance ended up having to go there in person and ask for assistance, as my emails and phone calls were going unanswered. After finally getting some information, we received a tour. However, I followed up with them after the tour and never got a response. We quickly ruled them out, as communication is critical when planning a wedding. I didnt want to deal with having to track people down to get answers. Definitely wouldnt recommend them for a wedding venue which is a shame considering its a beautiful location.

The rooms are both cosy, well cared for and clean. The hotel gives a feeling of "personal and cozy". Not like all the chains that are everywhere. We warmly recommend staying at this fine hotel!

This hotel is not what I would consider elegant or boutique. The rooms are, at best, average in appointments. The room I stayed in smelled like dirty laundry. The heating system was very loud and difficult to control. It was not possible to turn it off. We were initially unable to get into one of our rooms. Three of us unsuccessfully tried to open the door. When I went to the front desk for assistance they told us it was a known problem and you had to lift the handle. They have the wrong lockset on the door! Parking was nearby, not adjacent as stated on the web site.

Place is great looking, clean, beautiful spot right by the water, etc., staff was courteous and professional in any exchange I had, great location in town. Two things - the noise up/down stairs is very noticable - thin ceiling/flooring where to say you can hear someone walking above is one thing and can be disruptive, especially if you're a light sleeper, but you could feel vibrations of people moving about upstairs. When you were in the bed or sitting on the chair in the room you could literally feel the vibrations of people walking around upstairs. Secondly, there's NO PARKING at the hotel, unless you apparently spring for an pricier room/a suite. There was no indication of a parking issue, they only told me I'd have to park off-site after I had already checked in. Gave me a piece of paper with their letterhead on it with a name and date, said put it on your dashboard and park a block or so away. There were maybe 25-30+ parking spots in the place, so I figured first come/serve but they only had a couple spots for people who were staying in their suite rooms, not regular rooms. Gave a really bad feeling about not caring about the customer to make them park off-site, especially and specifically if they were older or had any physical issues. Even so, it was rude feeling and unnecessary considering the ample parking - especially off-season as it is in March - to exclude customers from parking on their property. The two nights I was there nearly every spot in the lot was empty and we all had to park a block away - will never understand that. I've seen that in NYC or other big, cramped cities where parking is a major issue but not here!! There's a sign as you drive into the property that says 'hotel parking only - violators would be towed'. I have no idea why that sign is there if they do not allow their paying customers to stay there. Really odd!! Probably would opt for another place that cares about the convenience of their customers and put that first.
