My wife and I went here today to open a checking and savings account. We sold one of our homes and had a check from a Newport escrow lawyer drawn off a bank in newport. The check was for 147k, it had the info and phone number of the bank and lawyer on it. The young woman that waited on us was nice but the management wouldn't get up and come out to talk to us. We were told there was a 6 business day waiting period and there was absolutely nothing they could do and wouldn't be able to release the funds in any part until then. We went to TD bank in Cranston and Crystal called the number on the check and guess what. All the funds are available tomorrow morning, plus 500 dollars today!. I also had a business check for 65k from out of state and that one will take 2 days. The total lack of effort in this branch is absolutely pathetic. Why talk to customers when you can socialize with the employees in your office. We are putting 100k in cds and the rest in our checking. They also lost my business account money too, I opened a special account with TD for that also. A little effort would have gone a long way. All I expected was to have a few hundred dollars freed up until it cashed. So the lack of effort and customer service cost them an immediate 200k hit and hundreds of thousands more in the coming years. The manager said there is absolutely nothing they could do, via the young woman we talked too. How about you actually speak to your customer instead of hiding your office socializing. The young lady we dealt with was very nice it's the lack of effort on the managers part that cost them. Please feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to provide paperwork as proof. Although if the manager wasn't so lazy I wouldn't have gotten the great accounts at TD, so they kind of did us a favor by letting us see their true colors. Update, the entire amount of the check is available today just like TD said it would. Thx for nothing Banknewport, I look forward to letting everyone I know what a crackerjack team banknewport has. Lmao!

Extremely friendly Extremely helpful 1 ofthe things I like most is question it's stupid or 2 silly. I came in with a very strange question. They thought it was a strange. Question but? They treated me extremely. Well? And her. In? The. Process? Of researching why this is happening with my debit card and I agreed that it was a very odd. Thanks but they treated me very well and with a lot of respect even though it was an odd and silly question they were awesome curious as to the. Answer and why it does what it does

Entering this branch is very disconcerting. No counters, just people at desks. I really didn't no which way to turn at first. Parking lot is very busy and tight. Stay away at lunch hour rush. People there are very nice however.
