Walkability: Within walking distance of tons or restaurants and sites. Food & drinks: Great restaurant and bar! Food was delicious. Took a little time to get a drink at brunch on Sunday, but it was ok.

Rooms are small, windows covered in dead bugs. Shower door was a struggle to open. Soaps were the highlight of the stay. Hidden fees added on at check out that make you feel like you are getting taken advantage of on your way out leaving you sour and sore (unless you are rich enough not to care) These fees are added onto your stay even if you book through their website. Just go somewhere more transparent and up to date. Not worth fighting the charge. Would not recommend would not return.

Whilst this is a lovely hotel, their shady pricing model and staff behaviour leaves a lot to be desired. As other reviews have stated, the advertised price does not cover the cost of your stay. We booked a room for $260, and ended up paying $640 with destination fees, taxes, pet fees, etc. Although this is a standard cost for staying in Newport, it's the fact that the hotel hides most of these fees that is upsetting, and leaves guests feeling taken advantage of. You can find details of these fees throughout the website, but they are hidden in the fine print - and if you book through a third-party service you won't see them until you check out after your trip. They're never mentioned at check in or in the confirmation emails. We were able to get street parking for free overnight, but if you use the valet you're looking at $45/night and $30/day. We chose this hotel in part because it is pet friendly, and I called the day before we checked in to confirm if there were forms or costs to expect. The woman said "nope, just bring your pup to check in!" but when we arrived we found that we had to pay $150 fee + $50/night for our dog. This is at the very end of the FAQ website section, but the entire website states "pet friendly" without any details of cost. Overall, it's a nice hotel, but you want to do your research into the true cost of staying here first. We won't be coming back because we prefer transparency and guest experience to be priorities of our hotel choices.
