Torrid

Ive never had issues with this store until recently when I was visiting to make a return and shop for more items. I entered the store and was immediately greeted by Gladys. When she asked what I needed help with, I told her I had a return to make. Her response was of course you do in a very demeaning tone. I was taken aback and said am I not able to return anything here? She began to backpedal, trying to make up for her arrogant comment. Keep in mind, I worked in retail for a plus size competitor store for over 6 years. I understand processing online or in store returns goes against your sales for the day but not once have I ever made a comment to a customer making them feel ashamed to be returning something. She processed the returns with an attitude the entire time. After the return was complete, I looked around the store and saw a few items I liked but I did not feel comfortable spending my hard earned money in a store with a rude and unprofessional employee. Also, employees should be dressing the part for a retail sales. Im sure the dress code for employees at Torrid is not a ratty t-shirt with jeans and unkempt hair. I will continue to shop online and visit the Warwick or Wrentham store in the future.

I do love their clothes, I wont lie and I do have to say the employees in this location are very nice and patient but never purchase anything in store thinking you may get the sale price thats online. Even the customer service for this company, will not do it for you. They just continue to apologize yet wont price match and wont even recognize this. If i can buy an item online and pick it up in store, you should be able to price match as well if I am in store and picking it up.
