Honestly don't know what to say here! The job (just under $6000) for replacement shrubs that froze, small mesh wall to keep dogs out of 2 backyard planter areas & new mulch front & back. Thought the estimate was a little high but we all want to pay less. Relationship started out great with "Dusty". His crew was here several times with some minor confusion. Then they just never showed up again -- a 1/4 of the planter fence was not completed & so high & totally enclosed that I can't get into the planter area to weed -- still missing 3 shrubs. I was leaving on vacation, finally was able to reach Dusty, his explanation was that he had been sick but would be over the following week to complete the job. I returned a month later to find nothing was completed! Contacted Dusty again -- he would be over the following week. BUT, again, a no show. I phoned & texted him again -- no response. Finally contacted LowCo Gardeners who said "Jimmy" would call me back -- no call from Jimmy. Called LowCo Gardeners again today. Their response from Dusty was not the conversation we had months ago (which no one called to share with me). I am going to hire another company to complete this job (& of course pay even more). BEWARE IF YOU PAY UPFRONT FOR A JOB THAT IS NOT COMPLETED!!!
OMG -- I cannot believe the response I just got to my post (basically telling me the job was completed & anything else would be free of charge)!!! If the job was completed why did only 3/4 of the backyard planter get enclosed? Why did Dusty make 2 app'ts to do follow up & he was a no show?? Why would Dusty not return my calls or texts over several months? Why did Dusty admit he was unaware the wire fence around planters was totally enclosed with no access for me to get into the planter to weed or plant & too high for me to climb over (the example Dusty was shown was 2 ft high). Dusty was not there to supervise his work crew, did not check their progress so did not know what they installed & he nor a crew showed up again. You answer all of the above before you say the job was completed! I will continue to tell anyone who is interested that LowCo Gardeners is not the reliable company you want to do business with. I will continue to post on YELP, my local neighborhood feed, Facebook & share with all friends & family that LowCo Gardeners does not stand behind the work of their employees!! You know what just occurred to me? Did Dusty lowball the original estimate hoping an older, retired lady should just eat the discrepancies & pay more? I did tell Dusty I would pay for 2 extra shrubs in the back but he was already a no show, a no call, a no action. The price of 2 shrubs wasn't worth the incomplete job!!!
