        Martha was an amazing guide. As a local and archaeologist/anthropologist, she knows her stuff. We learned a lot I think we would have missed from another major tour center. It was an easy walking tour full of enriching info!

        Susan has a wonderful tour. Her family has multi generational roots and adds many insights into the rich Charleston history. Back alleys, church history, gardens, architectural design and history are all part of the experience. You will want to keep notes and go back to visit some of the unique museums, theaters, markets and shops you pass on the way. Highly recommend.

You will learn about the history from its founding in 1670 through wars, fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, the trans-Atlantic slave trade, Gullah-Geechee culture, religious diversity, architecture, and economic swings to present day growth and expansion. You will come away with a better understanding of the role Charleston played in the founding and expansion of this country.
