We could not be happier with our decision to go with Sean from ppe. Our dancefloor was a party the entire night. He was so professional, knowledgeable, and helpful in curating the perfect song choices through the night. PPE is the best in the business!

Sean and the PPEDJs were great!! We used them for both our ceremony and reception for music and it was perfect! They know how to party!! We even got to DJ for a bit ourselves!! LOVED! Could not recommend more. Great communication leading up to the wedding, great understanding of different music options and very excited to work with us to figure out all music! We had a blast!

We used PPE for our September 2023 wedding and I have nothing but positive things to say about the experience they provided our guests, their professionalism and attention to detail throughout the planning process, and how amazing DJ Doug was the day of our wedding. We wanted our wedding to feel like a big dance party with our closest friends & family and that's exactly what Doug delivered. From the ceremony music through our private last dance, it was all perfect.

Our wedding day felt like a dream!! We live out of state from where we had our wedding and so we were nervous about finding vendors we would love. From the first email communication to the reception and after Sean was amazing! He clearly communicated what his company's services strive to do and he did just that! We had the second package which was our music planning portal, studio lighting, an upgraded DJ booth, and clouds for our first dance. It was 100% worth every dollar spent. He read our crowd so well and we partied on the dance floor until they kicked us out for send off hahah. But really all of the ceremony music, cocktail, dinner hour, first dances, and open dance floor were so on point. He definitely has a talent and passion of DJ'ing and it showed through and through. He was also very respectful to us bride and groom about our wants and requests.

I unfortunately didn't have a good experience with the DJ. It's because of covid. Initially, I chose the music for my 2020 wedding in Greenville. We planned a 1920s theme and a lot of jazz music. We canceled because of the lockdowns and decided that we would reschedule it later. Sean promised to come back and do our wedding anytime in 2021. We were still couldn't schedule for 2021 so we pushed it back to 2022. I moved to Asheville because my father's health is declining and he can't travel far. I didn't get any complaint from any of the Greenville vendors that we previously paid except, Sean. He didn't have anyone available at first. He recommended I get a vendor in Asheville. It felt to me like he was brushing me off because he didn't want to refund us and didn't want to come. This initiated the tension between us. Eventually, he adjusted his schedule and allowed for one of his DJs to come. I think this upset him because he had to work on a Sunday in order to make it work. I was very emotional in my emails trying to convince him to help us. Somehow, he mistook them for something negative. I decided to change the music for this wedding. I asked him to reset the account. I redid it and had a lot of waltz music because we're planning to have a ballroom lesson. The ballroom instructors we hired cancelled our lessons and didn't give us a refund. I explained to Sean about the situation with the dance school but because I was so angry about it he thought I was being rude to him. So I had to redo my music choices again; my husband helped pick out songs. We didn't get a chance to hear them anyway because people were leaving early. Sean uses Spotify for his DJing. I honestly would recommend only picking out the special songs and the dedication songs. Songs in the "must play" don't necessarily get played even though he allows for 55 choices. I would only pick out like 20 songs and just let him fill in the rest with songs from whatever genre or style that you choose for your reception. When I looked at the Spotify list and didn't see a lot of the songs that I wanted. I decided to remove a lot of songs that he picked to be in the lists. I'm perfectionistic and felt like I had every right to voice my concern about it. But the wedding planner and Sean got really upset with me. I thanked him for his help many times, apologized for getting upset, and I even sent him emails before praising his company. He called the Friday beforehand yelling, threatening to cancel, refund, and give us a list of songs to play on our own. Worrying if my DJ would come or not, really ruined the weekend for me. The conversation was not professional; my husband and mother-in-law who heard it agree. I said many times to not take it personal; I was upset about the music not him. I figured something had just gone wrong with what I was seeing on the Spotify list. It's a bad memory that I wish just hadn't happened. And I guess it's because I had to change this music over three times. They did play our important songs but also stuff I didn't choose that didn't fit. He kept saying how I picked up so much music that he couldn't play it all but yet he had time to play songs at the wedding that I did not choose? That doesn't make any sense to me. I told him my dad was sick, could barely walk me down the aisle or father-daughter dance. But he would still treat us like this? I'm sure nothing will go wrong with your wedding but I unfortunately had a very bad experience with this DJ.

If you are a potential client and you make it to the end of this, we owe you a bottle of wine for your dedication to read all of this. Hit us up for an in office consultation with a bottle of free wine, you’ve earned it! However, we think you’ll stop at the first paragraph and understand our situation…This is Dorian’s second attempt at writing a bad review for us. We would like to point out that Dorian’s original review was taken down by the review site due to the guidelines of slander. Her comment was“…and to be honest I don’t think he would have treated a white customer the same way”. We were actually appalled that someone would think this way about us or anyone. Our company is proud to be a part of weddings of any race, creed, ethnicity or sexual orientation. We do not discriminate whatsoever, and we would terminate any employee of ours that had this mindset.Dorian signed a contract with us initially on 12/4/2019 for her wedding on 05/23/21 at The Westin in Downtown Greenville. Then COVID. During COVID we were working with every single client we had to move their dates to later in 2020 and even to 2021, all at no additional cost. Dorian signed a new contract with us on 4/9/2020 for her new wedding date at The Westin Poinsett on 8/23/2021, and was charge $0.00 for the move date.On August 9, 2021, TWO WEEKS before her wedding, every vendor Dorian was working with got an email stating that she planned to cancel her wedding once again due to COVID. She then informed us that she would like to now move the wedding date AND location. The new details: 05/22/2022 in Asheville, North Carolina.I explained to her in a responding email that we were pretty much booked already for all of May 2022, and we weren’t going to be available anymore for her. We had no obligation at that time to refund any money of hers because she cancelled her wedding two weeks prior to her wedding date the second time. Our contract clearly states that any cancellations 30 days prior to the event date result in no refunds, and that the retainer fee is non refundable. She replied with two more emails explaining something about how they had wedding insurance but it didn’t cover the cost of COVID anymore, which is a fact, but had nothing to do with our services. Force majeure was not being enforced in August of 2021 because in 2021 weddings were back in full swing here in South Carolina, with no restrictions by the state or national government.Even with all of this, I still took an entire weekend in August 2021 to reschedule and move around my DJs to make sure she still had someone for her wedding, even pulling an assistant off my personal wedding I was DJ’ing to help Dorian’s wedding. And being that she had such a “nightmare” (her words) with COVID, I didn’t charge her any extra fees for canceling her wedding two weeks before her date, or charge ANY additional fees to travel from Greenville, SC to Asheville, NC. I wanted to help her as much as we could, because we understand COVID disrupted so many couples’ wedding experiences. Dorian is the only COVID couple we’ve had to have a “terrible” experience with us. Everyone else has been so understanding.Dorian's wedding had 7.5 hours of Disney music selected, for a 5 hour wedding. She had specific times to play these. We don't DJ on Spotify, but for this situation, we needed Spotify for 7.5 hours of Disney songs we don't have in our library. Simply put. Dorian wasn't happy, and was over controlling at every turn.Dorian we went above and beyond for you, but you continue to be unhappy with us, as well as other wedding vendors for whatever reason. On top of that, you accusing us in your original review of treating you different because you weren't white is just down right disrespectful and rude and clearly inaccurate.
