MTH Mortgage

If I could give this mortgage company zero stars, I would. The only reason Im even leaving a review is for future home buyers to beware of the poor quality service they provide. Not only did I experience panic attacks during my loan process because of what they put me through, but now, 38 days after I closed, I find out that my home insurance policy has been cancelled due to the fact that MTH mortgage never paid. Ive been working in this industry as a realtor for a few years now, and never have I heard of or seen such poor quality service from a bank until now. They made my home buying process a nightmare!! Do yourselves a favor and go with another bank!

The only reason this company gets a 1 star review is because I can't go lower. I've been dealing with them for well over 30 days. They waited until 2 days prior to closing to tell me we can't close because they couldn't verify income through my employer. The more I pushed for reasons as to why, the more disrespectful the upper level management became. I had a builders interest rate that would allow for a %4.99 interest rate. That deal expired on 09/28/23, the day before the closing THEY selected. They then wanted to push my closing out to mid/late October and would not provide an estimated date. They basically told me I had two options, break contract or accept a hight interest rate upwards of %6. Upon researching, I found this is a common practice for this company when you're scheduled to close within a couple days of the rate incentive expiring. The upper level management is disrespectful and they outright lied about what was being told. However, I had everything, including phone calls documented and recorded. The only individuals that were easy to work with was my direct loan processor, the sales woman, and the builder. Buyers be ware, if you want to buy from Meritage Homes, secure a third party loan. The sales team and builders are incredible, the finance company MTH are crooked and will try and trap you. Thankfully I got them to agree on refunding my earnest money. Which was only because of the Meritage Home Sales team. MTH Mortgages and their underwriters are crooked.
