Overall a nice stay this past week. Hotel staff seemed a little overwhelmed with the property being sold out. Pool areas seemed to struggle the most. Rooms and restaurants were great.

A person from Omni Hilton Head sent me an email asking for a review. This is what I sent back. Dear Bridgett. bad, bad experience. First, the room was fine but beyond that I was never so glad to leave a vacation spot.
*we arrived at 2 pm to check in. When we asked about how long it would be for our room we were told somewhere between 30-45 min. We decided to sit in the lobby and wait. After 1 hour I asked again. I was told it was almost ready maybe 20 min more. After waiting 1 & 1-/2 hours I asked again. I was told anytime now. After 2 hours of sitting in the lobby I demanded to see the MOD. A very unapologetic woman came out and started punching the check-in keyboard. 5 min later she came over to us to say the room was now ready. The first words out of her mouth was that check-in was 4 pm. I informed her that her comment wasnt the issue. The issue was that we were led to believe it wouldnt be long. If we had known we could have gone to do something else instead of sitting in the lobby for over 2 hours. The manager basically made us feel it was our fault. She did not apologize smile or say she was sorry. She insisted it was our fault for expecting the room before 4 pm. For an upscale resort. She was the worst. I do not go to a resort like yours to be talked down to. It was NOT our fault it was the information we were given at check in. The woman Manager on duty SHOULD BE FIRED OR RETRAINED. *next, my wife went to your "market". The shelves were empty. Plus she tried to order me an espresso and was told the machine was broke. Your market was that way the entire 4 days we were there EMPTY SHELVES and no espresso. In addition one morning I asked for a yogurt parfait. It was half empty. When I complained the service person simply put more plain, tasteless yogurt on top. It was awful. I left the entire cup on the table untouched. No service person said one word to me NO FOLLOW-UP AT ALL. *next When we checked in we only received one room key (not told why). A day later we went to the front desk to get a second room key. We were told the key machine was broke so we could have only one room key (wow). We were told as soon as the machine was fixed the hotel would text us to let us know we could pick up another key. 2 days went by my wife went to the front desk and asked for a second key. She was handed one. So we were not texted when we could pick up a second key (nice follow-up). as they said they would. *next we constantly saw trash cans overflowing with trash. To the point of being blown over the ground. We saw this all over the property.
*next one morning we ordered a waffle via room service delivered in a paper bag. A resort that charges over $20 for a waffle was delivered in a paper bag. It was not eatable. Cold waffle, bacon, etc. At check-out we told the front desk we were not paying for that awful meal. The desk clerk took off the charge but did not ask what was wrong with the meal(nice follow-up)? He just didnt care.
*next I never knew that your hotel was a kindergarten playhouse. Kids are fine but not when they scream ALL THE TIME. There was not one morning that we were not awaken by screaming kids running down the halls. The pool was all screaming kids. Management would probably say go to the "adult pool". Well we would have if it had been heated. You should modify your web site to say"we love a screaming kid in every room". We tried to eat breakfast in the restaurant one morning. The table next to us had 2 little girls that screamed the whole time. The staff did nothing. You need to warn people that you are a kiddy resort - like Disney. We would have never come if we knew kids ran and screamed unchecked. For a luxury resort Omni Hilton Head is a joke. Not only did I waist over $2,000 for 4 days but I wasted my valuable vacation time. Your resort is the worst! We will never-ever return. I want my time back. I can only grab a few days here and there and you stole my days. Making it worse we flew to your resort from Santa Fe, NM.
Food & drinks: Terrible and overpriced. Plus you have to put up with screaming children.
Noteworthy details: Do not stay at this hotel. The management of the hotel obviously have never run a luxury resort. Everything was off plus everything was overly expensive. The worst is they just didnt care. The woman manager on duty when we checked in basically didnt care nor was upset that we had to wait in the lobby two hours for our room (Even though we were told the room was going to be ready any minute). Worse luxury resort experience I have ever had in my 60 years. My wife and I made a terrible mistake picking this hotel. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

First Time visiting this Omni location, and I must say everything is splendid! Beach is right out front about a 2 minute walk, pools are nice and clean and great space Families. Our room is large and inviting, with his and hers sinks and a nice tile walk in shower. We opted for the partial ocean view for half the price verses the full view. And I must say, we see the ocean just fine! Nothing much negative to say, other than we went to the pool our first day, a little later in the afternoon around 4:45, and there were no clean pool towels to be found and no one to ask? So I went back inside saw a cleaners cart and just grabbed a couple rooms towels, which worked just fine. Also pool bar closed at 5, so by the time we got settled and went to get drinks to enjoy they were closed . But that was ok, you can go inside the lounge bar and order and bring them back outside we were told, but to far of a walk for us, so we just enjoyed the hot tub. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice stay at semi affordable prices, to be on the beach and in Palmetto Dunes is a plus, with plenty of bike riding possibilities and restaurants and community store of its own!
Rooms: Room was clean and airy with a beautiful corner view of the ocean!

The poolscapecomplete with three pools and a kids' splash zonekept our little ones entertained. The expansive grounds offered something for everyone, such as making smores by the fire. Whether you're a couple seeking romance, a family craving adventure, or a solo traveler in need of serenity, this resort delivers. We left with hearts full of gratitude and memories that will linger until our next visit.
Tip: Rent a car or bike to explore additional restaurants. Though the hotel offers a shuttle, its much faster to get around on your own.
