Called and talked to the schedule maker multiple times and she kept telling me someone would call me right back and they never did, this happened 5-6 times. I get that they are super busy, but if that is the case maybe hire more people or have a better system of keeping track of messages

Our sewer line collapsed on a Saturday morning, called homeserve (sewer line insurance company) which was recommended on our Rapid City water bill, immediately that morning. Homeserve touted fast service from a reputable plumber, which actually required 5 phone calls and 36 hours to get a tech out (AAA plumbing.) After scoping and trying to clear the blockage the tech could not get the issue resolved. Their bid is still non-existent for the emergency repair of our line. So we would still be without sewer without even a call from their company. So I called around looking for anyone to get our sewer line back up and running. Askland was great, and got me a bid in a hurry but was just too busy to make it out as fast as A-1 ditching could. Pam with A-1 was so helpful, and Steve made it to our house that Sunday night after AAA left. Steve was able to get us worked into his schedule by Wednesday which was incredible in my opinion, and his bid was excellent too! Homeserve ended up making this the most painful customer service experience for A-1 and my family up until the very last minute of the repair. So thankful A-1 helped us navigate Homserve and ended up doing the work in two days. So professional, courteous and thoughtful. Felt like a nice small town company that was honestly trying to help us out in a bind. So appreciative for their company and everyone involved. I cannot recommend A-1 ditching enough.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with Steve at A-1 Ditching. I don't think I've ever worked with any company that has gone so far above and beyond to help me out of a jam, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Rapid Rooter had told me I had a break in my clay tile sewer line and that my best bet would be to have the whole line replaced. I was panicking at the thought of an estimated $10,000 expense that I couldn't afford, and I didn't know what to do because the other ditching place I had called, Askland Ditching, was booked weeks out.
I called A-1 in desperation at the end of the work day. Steve called me back after hours and said he would prioritize my project and be at my house first thing in the morning.
When he arrived, he had already gone to the city and gotten all the locating records. We talked, and I told him about a water main repair Askland Ditching had done for me a few months previous. I asked Steve if it was possible that Askland could have hit the sewer main by accident while they were working, but Steve had nothing but kind words to say about his own competitor and assured me they knew what they were doing.
Through Steve's detective work, he ultimately determined that it WAS Askland who had hit my sewer line due to city locating records that inaccurately showed the line's location.
Steve called up Askland for me and convinced them to come back and fix the problem, even though it wasn't their fault either.
A-1 could have very easily fixed this problem for me, charged me for it, and I would have been none the wiser. Instead, Steve made multiple trips to the city and multiple phone calls to his competitor to resolve the issue for me. The the whole ordeal took up half a work day and he didn't charge me a DIME.
Honesty and customer service like this is incredibly hard to come by these days. I hope I don't have another issue that would require me to call a ditching company again, but if I do, I would call A-1.
