Applebee's Grill + Bar

We got there shortly after it opened for the day, the doors were smeared and filthy and the entry floor was dirty. Upon entering there was no hostess, I had to walk around the mostly empty restaurant trying to find one. The barstools are worn and ripped... Something that was hard to miss as we were seated in a booth next to the bar. The server was in a dirty uniform (again I stress that they just opened), service was slow, food was good. The other servers and staff were mostly in the kitchen. This used to be a nice place. The ceiling, ceiling fixtures, floors, windows... Everything was in need of cleaning and maintenance. Just ewwwww.

Busy Friday night. The food was delicious. Server Holly was considerate and checked on us and kept us happy.

Update: Shortly after posting my original review, the regional/district (I don't remember which) manager reached out to me and assured me that he would personally take care of the situation and possible re-training of how to handle these types of situations. He also advised me to make staff aware of my allergy before ordering so that they can take extra steps in order to avoid cross contamination. Previous review: I'm allergic to shellfish & we found a shrimp underneath the chicken on my plate (a meal that did not come with shrimp for obvious reasons). If I'd accidentally eaten it, I could have gotten very sick and potentially had to go to the hospital. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, and while the manager did comp our meal & give my dad a free desert, he refused to speak to us himself. Please be careful eating here if you have any food allergies.
