BEWARE!!! Negligent, unprofessional, deceitful, and untrustworthy I have moved A LOT over the years for work and school and this company is by far the worst moving company we have ever worked with. They loaded our Uhaul for a move and they caused thousands of dollars of damage to televisions and furniture, including family heirlooms and antiques. The movers that unloaded the truck (a reputable and trustworthy company weve worked with many times over the years) said that it was the worst loading job theyd seen in over two decades of moving. My husband was a mover during college and agreed with them. A very common rule of loading a truck is to strap televisions to the sides/walls of the truck to prevent damage to the screens. These movers just loaded them in with the furniture without boxes, blankets or anything which caused punctured screens. This is one example of the many obvious mistakes they made when loading the truck. When I contacted the company to file a claim, the owner was incredibly rude and refused to take any responsibility. First, he accused me of lying and tried stating his company didnt complete our load. I have emails, text messages, and call records to prove otherwise. After calling him out, he admitted they did complete the load but stated it was our fault because they didnt pack the boxes. The items that were damaged were not packed items, they were larger items that dont go inside of boxes so this excuse wasnt relevant. He then tried the excuse that they didnt have the supplies to safely load the items because it was only a load, and they dont provide furniture pads or straps for that. We provided 5 dozen furniture pads and lots of ratchet straps for them to load the furniture properly and safely. They pretended to use the furniture pads, but they were not used correctly and didnt actually cover or protect the furniture. After pointing out the flaws in these excuses, he said he wasnt liable for any damages per our contract. The problem with this excuse is that no contract was ever mentioned or presented to us. Also, after they finished the load they made us pay in cash (without any prior mention). These two things are indicative of super sketchy business practices and should be a red flag for any potential customers. He also tried to blame it on my driving the truck and said I probably hit a pothole. Ive been a CDL driver with tens of thousands of miles under my belt. I have a lot of experience with loading and transporting cargo, and I know how different terrain and driving conditions impact the cargo. This was not the case, and it was obvious to everyone involved in unloading the truck that the damages were due to negligence in loading the truck, not a pothole. Now we must go to small claims court because they are unwilling to take responsibility for the negligence of their employees. They are very unprofessional, sketchy, and clearly do not care about their customers or items theyre moving. I would recommend choosing a more reputable moving company in the area. However, if you decide to utilize their services ensure you receive a contract, take photos and videos of everything being moved before and after, and WATCH and film them loading and unloading your things.
