PMI has some of the worst communication skills Ive seen. Its incredibly hard to get in touch with them, and when you do, the ladies handling the phone calls typically are not very helpful. The maintenance handling is decent, but thats about it, and Ive had requests canceled because I didnt reach out when I did and never had a call back. Back in august, we got multiple emails saying our lease was about to be up and that it was time to resign. I called multiple times and never got an answer. When I finally did, the young woman I spoke too was nice, and I told her that it was time to resign, but that I needed to update my name on the new lease due to marriage. She told me that the new leases were being written, that she would tell the lady who handles them, and to be looking at our emails for our new lease. Our lease expired and we still had nothing. I reached out via the resident portal explaining all of this, only to get a reply saying that she never received the name update note, and that our lease was being transferred to another company. That was on the day our lease expired. I tried signing into the portal to email them to find out who was handling our new lease, only to see that our account was gone, meaning we no longer had anything to do with PMI. I emailed the website directly with what was going on and got a phone call the next day from PMI saying that its not their responsibility to send communication anymore as the new company has our lease. That was over 2 weeks after our lease was up. I was told in the voicemail who the new leasing company was, so I went from there and reached out to them. There is no way that they did not know at the time of our lease expiring with them that our lease was being transferred to a new company. Its frustrating and pretty sad how they handled the situation with not keeping their tenets up to date with the transfer, and the only reason we found out was because I CALLED and was told then. It put me & my husband through intense anxiety about our home and future of living there due to their severe lack of communication and caring about the people who rent through them. The new leasing company has been very helpful thus far in 2 weeks & is doing more than what PMI did in the 4 years they had the lease. Im updating my review to a 1 star from a 2 star due to the poor response from the owner. we received no notification of transfer via email, nor postal service. We only found out due to me calling in a panic the day our lease expired and only THEN being told. Again, poor communication.
