Two trimesters out of part-time welding evening program, graduated spring trimester 2021. Administration very nice and hard working people when it comes to enrollment and tuition. Training in review, me and my foreman (as of the time of this review, November 2021, yes, I currently hold employment in my trade). My training is completely inadequate for entry level metal fabrication. Drains a lot of time and MONEY out of my boss, foreman, and coworkers when I was hardly trained in blueprint reading summer and fall trimester 2020, during Covid shutdown, we did a rudimentary online print reading book and questions, which was general and bare minimum requirements (in lamest terms, print reading training, NOT GOOD ENOUGH), even when we returned to class, instructor, (as of when I graduated, a 21 year old kid, 2 years of experience, apprentice-level) forbid me from welding pipe or going near the machine lathe that bevels the pipe, declared that my welding is not good enough. Course also lacks fabrication training/projects to LEARN IN SCHOOL how to build things out of metal BASED ON PRINTS. Overall, I would strongly recommend PRIOR to enrolling in ANY class to chat with the instructor (LOOK at his experience and constantly ask yourself, he is going to show you how to do the trade or is he going to TEACH you how to do the profession so you can grow as a person, cause at the end of it all, Im the person responsible for my lack of insight into not transferring my life and MONEY to a more qualified person who would actually TEACH me the trade. (Pics are merely EVIDENCE that I am a genuine graduate showing parts of the TCAT McMinnville welding shop, giving a genuine review, including selfies, guy in black shirt was my instructor, runs the part time evening welding course, his info is on TCAT McMinnvilles website under faculty and staff, good guy, lacks experience to be an instructor. Selfies are me.)
