Jacobs Cohen & Associates

My husband and I hired Jacobs Cohen because I own a business which makes our taxes somewhat complicated. I reached out to the company to express disappointment with our CPAs communication (there were a few occasions when he did not respond to my emails and it was only when my husband would send a follow up that my questions would be answered, and he would call or email my husband instead of me to ask questions about MY business). I explained that this felt dismissive of my role (and felt a bit sexist). There was also an error on our prepared tax return that would have cost us several thousand dollars had I not caught it. In response, I received an incredibly dismissive and patronizing email from the managing partner. He started by admitting that he wasnt familiar with our situation, and then he launched into all the reasons that the situation was probably my fault (again, despite admitting he wasnt familiar with the situation). He even went so far as to say that if I felt like the CPA would only respond to my husband, I should have had my husband instruct him to talk to me (presumably then he would have listened?). What had been a slightly disappointing experience was very much exacerbated by the overtly rude response from management. I would suggest that female clients stay away from this firm!

Poor customer service and after calling three different times and leaving three voicemails, NO call back regarding my employer tax information. I guess since the payment for their service is not coming directly from me, they feel as if they have no obligation to return my call concerning receiving my W2 after my company has closed due to COVID! All three calls, within a week, leaving messages with one of the partners, but only to be brushed off. I'm glad I have my own CPA, but if I didn't, I sure hell would not use this company. Lack of professionalism and courtesy. That's enough for me to not do business with them.

This firm is a joke! The staff are incompetent. The staff does not know the meaning of hard work all they do is sit around and play games and gossip and don't work on client files. One of the partners is a womanizer and doesn't work half the time. Scam artists to the fullest! Do not spend your money here. I repeat do not spend your money here. They complain and fuss when the client wants to schedule an actual face to face meeting and the things they say about their clients. BEWARE!!!

Jacobs Cohen has worked on both my personal and professional taxes for several years. They have always been consistently professional and super easy to work with. They are always helpful and welcoming, willing to answer any questions, and make it easy and convenient to do your taxes. They are knowledgable about all kinds of subject matters that can help your personally or with your business accounting needs. It's very impressive that they are always willing to offer their knowledge free of charge and never push you into anything you don't want to pay for and never blindside you with billing. The best part for me personally is that they have caught mistakes that other tax professionals have made on previous tax returns, submitted revised returns, and gotten me more money back from the Federal Government. I highly recommend Jacobs Cohen.
