My wife and I bought a house from VolBuild about 7 weeks ago and we are thankful to have them as our builder. Everything is tip top construction and good quality materials. Nancy McMillan, our realtor for this new construction build, was so helpful and courteous to us with our first home that she even let us pick out our fixtures! We would recommend them to everyone.

We Recently Hired VolBuild to replace our roof. From start to finish I was impressed with Eric and his team. They worked quickly to make sure everything was in place to make our replacement happen as soon as possible. Once they were told about the problems I was having...they showed up almost immediately and secured our roof with tarps until they could get materials ordered to replace. The roofing crew was prompt efficient and professional! They went above and beyond to make sure that my yard was perfect and clean. I would highly recommend Eric and his team to anyone. Thanks VolBuild for a job well done!

Volbuild did a custom built home for us. The construction was high quality, and we are very pleased with the results. Throughout the process they were very responsive and cooperative.

Eric McMillan, owner Nancy McMillan, realtor First Realty, Erics wife Dave McMillan, project manager, Erics father We signed a contract that THEY offered for a fixed price house, not cost plus, in August 2020. Broke ground in Sept 2020. Soon afterwards the market conditions changed and lumber pricing went up. Instead of coming to us and asking to renegotiate, the McMillans decided to either run us off or upgrade us to death and cut every corner possible. They said several times that they had sold our exact house to someone else for $40,000 more. They installed an entire house of single hung windows when the contract said double hung. If I wanted a 6 foot bathtub to fit in a 6 foot tub alcove - $upgrade$! If I didnt pay it they would put in a 5 foot tub and put towel bars on the sides to take up the extra room. They told us in the beginning custom wood cabinets and cabinets per plan according to their contract. But suddenly the cabinets in the laundry and pantry werent included. When they had to admit they were included it appeared they were going to install particle board prefab cabinets ordered from some place in Georgia. Also now the pantry wasnt part of the kitchen (really??) and the counters wouldnt be the spec granite, but Formica. In a $315,000 house. Unless we wanted to $upgrade$. It appeared that they used 2x4s instead of 2x6s for 2 exterior walls with water lines. Not enough room for proper insulation and those will surely freeze. It also appeared the water line to the water heater was too small, they used galvanized in the master tub area instead of brass or copper, and unless they fixed it the vanities in the guest bath werent vented. They gave us a bill for $1488 for rock removal for a rock that didnt get removed. They poured concrete over it, which was fine, but then dont hand me a bill in January for removing a rock in Sept that didnt get removed. I could go on and on. My husband and I found the McMillans to do business with little integrity and honesty. We would have negotiated. I specifically told Nancy we wanted to help with the budget, but they chose to try to make more money in underhanded ways. Like Dave telling me and Nancy to my face that an HVAC upgrade was $300 a ton and 4 days later I received an email from Nancy saying it was $600 a ton. We can not recommend doing business with the McMillans at all. We really wish we could. That was our forever home. But we couldnt go through with this build due to lots of questions about not only their integrity but the integrity of the home wed be paying for. Also, that 5 star review from Hunter McMillan with no comments - thats Eric and Nancys child, not a satisfied customer.
