Holiday Inn Express & Suites Abilene Mall South, an IHG Hotel

This was my first time in Abilene, and we stayed at the HIE before going to a camping music festival. This was the perfect farewell to civilization! The room was clean, shower was hot, the Dove toiletries were a hit, and the breakfast was delicious. But our favorite part by far was the grackles!

***DO NOT STAY HERE ****** Family with covid had to cancel reservations Didnt know the horrible experience ahead of me.Impossible to get comliance from staff. I called and canceled in a timely manner within the 24 policy. I even asked for a email conformation was told I would get a email never received one. They booked the room to someone else even though they said the room wasnt canceled.Would give negative stars if I could. Staff horrible, I had to keep calling all I got was front desk saying manager wasn't in or busy would call me back. Called several times before getting a call back. when I did get to speak with a manager very rude man extremely unprofessional wouldn't allow me to talk. He spoke to me in a very aggressive tone. Practicly barking at me. Kept giving me the run around and excuses why I couldn't get a refund when the site said fully refundable. Wasn't on the phone long when he stated I dont have time for this and just hung up on me. I never felt so frustrated and treated so poorly when I never even raised my voice just pleaded to help me understand why I couldn't be helped.

The overall experience was good. The breakfast was okay, the options were limited to sausage, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and oatmeal. However, the cinnamon roll was delicious. The room was clean, tidy, and also very quiet. Unfortunately, the elevator was messy with lots of fingerprints. Additionally, the pool was closed probably due to the weather conditions. Nearby activities: There are lots of shops and restaurants near your location. Walkability: Most of the things you need are located at a walking distance.

DISGUSTING!!!!! I do wanna start by saying that the staff was very friendly, and helpful. We were originally put in room 110. It smelled like dog so bad, food was left in the fridge, and the sheets were dirty. There was what looked like a blood stain on one of the bed sheets. I went to the front desk, and she was so helpful. She immediately moved us to room 115, and she looked at the issues we had in the first room. Room 115 smelled fresh, but the bathroom was dirty ( I did not report that because by this time it was late, and we needed to sleep, I did let the morning front desk staff know.) the toilet was dirty, and the metal part under the faucet of the tub came off, and you could see all the gunk, and grime behind it. I could not let my kids take a bath in that tub, and I even took a rag to try to clean the inside of the tub because it was grimey. Breakfast was not what you would expect from a Holiday Inn Express. No waffle maker, no cinnamon rolls, no pancakes. You had to pour the milk from a gallon that was in the little fridge, and the boiled eggs were shriveled up looking. The property is dated, and just dirty.
