UPDATE: Business chose to sanction the predator instead of removing him, and now wants to silence. BEWARE. Mike Sullivan, the president of Sylvan of Abilene, is a serial predator. He preyed on kids and this went unreported with the tacit acceptance of the Sylvan management. Mike should have been fired a long time ago and not been allowed to be anywhere near children. Yet he still enjoys close interactions with CHILDREN. This is despicable.

My children were behind their grade level. We have homeschooled them and now considering putting them in public school.. Sylvan has helped them in getting caught up! They have now shown an interest in learning and their interest in going to school and doing school work has improved thanks to gaining confidence from going to Sylvan! Would recommend this program to any parent!

Our 14yr old son is high functioning Autistic. Sylvan has been working with him 2hrs a week for a year and we couldn't be more pleased with his progress. His reading comprehension has excelled 2+ grades in 1 year. Amazing! We highly recommend Sylvan Learning of Abilene to anyone with a child with learning struggles, especially those on the spectrum.

At just 8 years old and starting third grade, my son was struggling with reading comprehension and fluency. This assessment revealed his reading level was equivalent to that of a pre-kindergartener. Fast forward to March 2024, not only did he reach 3rd grade reading level, but he exceeded expectations! In a mere 18 months, my son surpassed his initial goal, reaching a fifth-grade reading level. What's even more impressive is that he's now delving into sixth-grade reading material. This achievement speaks volumes. It's a testament to his hard work, determination, diligence, and eagerness to learn, but mainly the support he received from Sylvan. The instructors were nothing short of exceptional. They were not only highly qualified and experienced educators but also compassionate mentors who genuinely cared about my son's progress. They provided him with the individualized attention and support he needed to thrive, patiently guiding him through each lesson and celebrating every milestone along the way. Sylvan has been more than just a tutoring center they have been a lifeline for our family. They believed in my son when he couldn't believe in himself, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
