St. David's Cardiovascular Imaging Center - Austin

The front desk staff are easy to talk to and very helpful. The waiting area is large with comfortable seats and free coffee. Come early for easy free parking. The medical staff are really helpful, they discuss the tests being performed and what to expect. I was amazed at the technology they use and how they can measure your body internals with such high precision. I like that they will show you the video screen while working on the imaging. I have been several times to this location (south Austin) and every trip is consistently good.

Horrible experience getting an MRI. Nobody was at the registration desk because they had gone home for the day unbeknownst to their coworkers. I ended up getting walked through all sorts of back hallways if the hospital by random staff members trying to help me figure out where to go. Arrived in radiology department and the place was deserted. Even though I had pre-registered before my visit I had to register everything again. Despite the fact nobody else was there, I mean literally ZERO other patients, the process took nearly 3 hours. And on top of that Im still waiting for results to be sent to my doctor 3 days after the procedure even though the order was labeled STAT by the requesting physician. ARA has always provided next day results to my doctors, even when the waiting room was crowded with people. Why would it take so long from St. Davids when they werent even busy with any other patients?!? I am waiting on these results for a very serious, urgent diagnosisand it all is determined by the results of this MRI. But I guess their radiologists dont particularly have any concern for patients who are sitting around filled with anguish and worry.
