This isnt the place to go unless you want a cookie cutter experience. The whole group was talk what to do without explanation and then the students were shamed for not understanding. I wont let my son go here but I feel like others may want to know that as well. Im looking forward to finding an establishment that has patient, child centered instruction.

I can't say enough great things about Corpus Christi Family Martial Arts. They are amazing! Ms. Shandie and Veronica are helpful, kind, and assists everyone. Every single one of the Sensei's is friendly, approachable, and you can see the passion they have for teaching the art of karate to all age groups. Corpus Christi Family Martial Arts treat you like family. They go above and beyond. My son has grown so much in the time we have been attending classes. He absolutely loves it and would attend every day if he could. I made the best decision enrolling my son here. It takes a village to raise a child and I am glad they are a part of it. You have my respect and my gratitude. GrandMaster Timmerman, Master Green, Sensei Jorge, Sensei Glen, Sensei Tara....thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My experience here was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! We initially started the program because my son expressed an interest and school pick up was more convenient. Recently we found out that our kids were being transported without a car seat as required by law and nearly in an accident where our kids said the seat belt locked up on them and hurt their necks. They told us that they never have car seats. Additionally, the person who seems to be in charge Shandie is always yelling at children! Always! If all the other instructors are able to watch the kids without yelling, I dont see why she cant!?! When I brought up my concerns, she threatened not to pick up my child for the remainder of the week (which I had already paid for) and refused us a refund. Who does that? Especially if they know they are in the wrong. They also charged us for belts that we never got and am still waiting on a response on that. At a glance the program seems great. However, as my work schedule changed, I was able to drop in randomly to go watch my boys and soon found out that the program is not at all what it seems. I dropped in unannounced several times only to find all the kids plopped in front of a TV with no volume on. The children were board out of their minds and when I asked about it and they turned the volume up all the kids were extremely excited and woke up. They claimed it always had volume but Id already gone several times to find them like this. They removed their workspace to do homework and replaced it with lap desk so that they have to be slouched to even do it. There is nowhere for parents in the after school program to sit and watch their kids if they want to stop in. So many parents are unaware of what really goes on because by the time they get there, children seem happy because 10-15 minutes before they arrive they let the kids play with toys. Parents pay so much money to have their kids here and the way their kids are being treated is just ridiculous. I recommend all parents starts doing random drop ins at both the location and pick up spot if youre using them to make sure your kids are in proper seating. Moreover, make sure they specify in their contract how much time your kids will actually get karate. Because I was told 20 minutes and more times than not it was much less. They start class late and end them early so many times. They are more of a daycare than a karate program, definitely reporting it as such so that it can be inspected. If they are going to treat the place as a day care then they should be forced to follow the same regulations and inspected as such.

I am not a student but my grandson has been going there since he was three years old. He is now eight and studies with the advanced all ages group. He is the youngest in the class which to me is very impressive. The Senseis are very dedicated in what they do and I couldnt ask for a better group of instructors.

Your 5 star review means so much to us! Our staff does their best to make everyone feels at home here. Seeing the growth in your child is such an amazing thing and we at the dojo see it as well.

Defamation of a business is serious. I am the owner of this business and therefore I have chosen to respond to it personally. I find this hate filled fake review extremely offensive. It is a rant of falsification in attempt to enact damage to a respectful business. The staff, coaches, and instructors work extremely hard to provide the best service to the best of their ability to all of their customers and students. They should not have to put up with this completely unwarranted, sick and disgusting attack. The author of the review is not being honest or truthful and should be ashamed. In a brief synopsis, this persons work schedule changed and therefore no longer needed our after school service. She did not like our 30 day notice to receive a deposit refund. The cancellation policy was explained thoroughly during registration and then acknowledge by her with a signature. I discuss this matter and the other concerns with her. Many of the complaints were not her first person experiences but what turned out to be a lot of untruths from her boys. These fictitious accounts were nonchalantly and flippantly confessed to as not true. At the end of our discussion, I agreed to credit the deposit towards our evening Martial Arts classes as she expressed great interest of enrolling one of her boys into. Ultimately, she did not register her son for the evening Martial Arts classes. Now, two months later we receive this incredibly spiteful tantrum in the form of a review espousing falsehoods that she knows are not true.To address the complaint about a belt charge she mentioned and said she had not heard anything about. This person disputed the charge with the credit card company. We agreed with the dispute and did not fight it. The monies were returned to her. I have the receipt. Dispute Reason: Goods/services not received Dispute Amount: $227.33In response to the safety and legal requirements, we are in full compliance with Texas State laws and regulations. All of our employees have had background check and have clean driving records. As a business owner I always appreciate and take serious someone that comes to me with honest constructive criticism, concerns or grievances. That information could be instrumental in alerting me to a mistake or oversight. Additionally, it could provide me valuable information on what changes or improvements I need to make to provide the best service possible for our customers. Unfortunately, this was not a helpful complaint. This was a shining example of how some people believe rules only apply to others and not to themselves. In conclusion, this person was held to our agreement and is now lashing out immaturely and with bad behavior.Since she did not get her way, she has decided to enact revenge. She is fully engaged and attempting to hurt this business by any means possible for forcing her to be responsible.
