This isnt the place to go unless you want a cookie cutter experience. The whole group was talk what to do without explanation and then the students were shamed for not understanding. I wont let my son go here but I feel like others may want to know that as well. Im looking forward to finding an establishment that has patient, child centered instruction.

I can't say enough great things about Corpus Christi Family Martial Arts. They are amazing! Ms. Shandie and Veronica are helpful, kind, and assists everyone. Every single one of the Sensei's is friendly, approachable, and you can see the passion they have for teaching the art of karate to all age groups. Corpus Christi Family Martial Arts treat you like family. They go above and beyond. My son has grown so much in the time we have been attending classes. He absolutely loves it and would attend every day if he could. I made the best decision enrolling my son here. It takes a village to raise a child and I am glad they are a part of it. You have my respect and my gratitude. GrandMaster Timmerman, Master Green, Sensei Jorge, Sensei Glen, Sensei Tara....thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

My experience here was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! We initially started the program because my son expressed an interest and school pick up was more convenient. Recently we found out that our kids were being transported without a car seat as required by law and nearly in an accident where our kids said the seat belt locked up on them and hurt their necks. They told us that they never have car seats. Additionally, the person who seems to be in charge Shandie is always yelling at children! Always! If all the other instructors are able to watch the kids without yelling, I dont see why she cant!?! When I brought up my concerns, she threatened not to pick up my child for the remainder of the week (which I had already paid for) and refused us a refund. Who does that? Especially if they know they are in the wrong. They also charged us for belts that we never got and am still waiting on a response on that. At a glance the program seems great. However, as my work schedule changed, I was able to drop in randomly to go watch my boys and soon found out that the program is not at all what it seems. I dropped in unannounced several times only to find all the kids plopped in front of a TV with no volume on. The children were board out of their minds and when I asked about it and they turned the volume up all the kids were extremely excited and woke up. They claimed it always had volume but Id already gone several times to find them like this. They removed their workspace to do homework and replaced it with lap desk so that they have to be slouched to even do it. There is nowhere for parents in the after school program to sit and watch their kids if they want to stop in. So many parents are unaware of what really goes on because by the time they get there, children seem happy because 10-15 minutes before they arrive they let the kids play with toys. Parents pay so much money to have their kids here and the way their kids are being treated is just ridiculous. I recommend all parents starts doing random drop ins at both the location and pick up spot if youre using them to make sure your kids are in proper seating. Moreover, make sure they specify in their contract how much time your kids will actually get karate. Because I was told 20 minutes and more times than not it was much less. They start class late and end them early so many times. They are more of a daycare than a karate program, definitely reporting it as such so that it can be inspected. If they are going to treat the place as a day care then they should be forced to follow the same regulations and inspected as such.

I am not a student but my grandson has been going there since he was three years old. He is now eight and studies with the advanced all ages group. He is the youngest in the class which to me is very impressive. The Senseis are very dedicated in what they do and I couldnt ask for a better group of instructors.
