I feel like a videographer is something couples often leave out to save money, or regret not having. Being the last of my friends to get married, I had plenty of people urging me to hire one, and I'm so glad I found Desmond. Dlores Media wasn't an approved vendor of our venue, but he did come highly recommended from our photographer, Jerrell Trulove. We watched a handful of his wedding videos and they all looked so fun. From our first phone call, jawing about football and the DFW area that we both call home, Desmond was warm, personable, punctual and lighthearted. He really wants to capture whatever your personalities are in his video.
During the planning process, he was consistent to check in and answer any questions we had. The questionnaire that he had us fill out was so thorough and detailed- questions like "how much direction would you like" and "choose the adjectives that best describe the photos you would like." His pricing was very fair. I did research a few other videographers as well. There was one or two that charged slightly less, but I knew the advantage of having a photographer and videographer who are friends and have worked multiple weddings together would outweigh the money savings. (And my gut was right on that- they worked seamlessly together and you could definitely see the strong partnership between the two of them).
On the actual wedding day, Desmond arrived exactly on time, with the photographer. They were ready to roll ASAP! They were very patient while I decompressed in another room for a bit and did all of the details shots in this time. Oh, and he complimented my playlist which I appreciate. At the actual wedding, he and Jerrell were so much fun and added their own energy to the party. There's plenty of people who could take nice photos but to have them also bring personality and energy to the room is such a nice bonus. You can tell his level of experience as well- he recorded our vows separately before the ceremony so that he can use whichever audio sounded better. Oh, and the drone footage of the venue- amazing!
To be honest, we are only a few weeks post wedding so we do not have the final, full video yet. However, we do have a 1 minute teaser video, videos of our toasts, and a few clips of some memorable entrances from our ceremony. And let me tell you, these are WONDERFUL! They are so so great. They definitely capture the fun of the day and are something I will cherish forever. All three of the toasts at our wedding were amazing so I'm so glad to have those as well! It totally depends what your priorities are, but if you can make it work with your budget a videographer is so worth it. Love, loved, loved working with this group. Desmond did a fantastic job making sure all things were set and ready before our big day. He also did a wonderful job editing out pictures and giving us a glorious variety to choose from. Jaren was there on our wedding day to take the pictures. HE! Worked! It! He was extremely involved and offered great ideas. He was also willing to take all the random pictures we asked for. HA!
