Mr. Reed, I was hired by your wife in May 2021 to represent her interest in the Estate of her father. I have never represented you. Your wife is the one who paid me in full for my work in the year 2021 and 2022. I was not hired to file the Estate- only to assist your wife to make sure she received all of the property that was supposed to go to her. I worked on this case with counsel for your wife's step mother until I was told by opposing counsel that your wife died in New Mexico. I was able to communicate with you one time and you inquired about filing an estate for your wife. I informed you that I could not represent your wife's estate because I am not licensed in the State of New Mexico. After that, I attempted to reach you to no avail. I sent correspondence to the last address and it came back "undeliverable." I never heard from you after that one phone call where I explained to you that I could not handle a New Mexico Probate. The attorney handling your father-in-law's estate in Hudspeth County Texas is trying to finalize the estate, which he never finished in early 2022. In an effort to notify the Court of your wife's passing, I tried once again this month to reach you to obtain your wife's date of death so I could give it to the Court. You were reluctant to give it to me so I filed notification with the Court and included information about her death that I did have. While you might feel my response that I could not represent the Estate of your wife was a "lame" response, it is exactly the response that I am required to provide when asked to do work in a jurisdiction in which I am not licensed. It was important that I tell you I cannot file a case in New Mexico as I am not licensed in New Mexico. I never represented you and I was not successful in obtaining your assistance in getting information I needed about your wife's death for her father's estate. If you had questions after your wife's death, in the years 2022 and/or 2023, you never communicated those questions to me. The Estate of your wife's father has not been finalized and it appears as the attorney representing the Estate is trying to proceed to get it finalized.
