    This hotel overall just rude and inconsiderate. I spend my last $100 on a room then got there and they said I had to pay $50 but when I called the person on the phone said I didnt have to pay a deposit so I tried to cancel the reservation and was told that they could not refund my money even explaining my situation and Im pregnant and needed somewhere to sleep that night. Dont waste your money they dont care and if you try to cancel you wont get your money back.

    I stayed in this hotel last night (checking in April 4th and checking out April 5th) I booked it online through the Choice hotels website as a gold status member. Whoever was on shift at 8 pm when I checked in was not in a uniform, on the telephone, and at first just not very friendly. As a gold member I usually get certain welcome packages, usually containing a thank you note, bottles of water and maybe a snack or two. While this isn't a required thing it's just usually a nice thing. As soon as I walked into the lobby I could smell weed, not strong to have just smoked but definitely an odor of it lingering. As the lobby doesn't lead to rooms or anywhere else it's hard to believe it was a guest since it wasn't anywhere else. I also was told there was a card convenience fee which was not listed on the website so it made my total over all go up about two dollars. The 50 dollar deposit did get charged which was listed but usually it's a card on file so that was a little different then most fine I'll wait for my money to come back in 10 days. I asked for a receipt and was told I could get one upon checking out. The room.... I booked a king bed non smoking and to my surprise the room was actually very clean. The sheets and towels were no visible staining and the over all was very nice I was pleased. Until I tried to use the blow dryer. This is where it went down hill. The blow dryer was broken (see photos) I couldn't dry my hair which for me is extremely uncomfortable being that I had to be back at work at 6 am. I sliced my finger on the blow dryer when it fell apart in my hand. I walked to the front where the guy that checked me in was outside on the phone smoking. I told him I needed a bandaid and why, he did give me a bandaid but when I said it's the equipment that broke and sliced my finger that I needed a working hair dryer, there was no response, no incident report, no offer to let me use another or to even move rooms literally not a word said and back to his phone call after he watched me bleed somewhat on the front desk. (I had washed the cut and wrapped it with toilet paper pretty well to stop the bleeding.) So I walked out frustrated. Upon checking out at 530 the lobby was locked. I had to be buzzed in by two employees one being the man still from checking me in. THE ENTIRE LOBBY SMELLED LIKE SOMEONE WAS ACTIVELY SMOKING WEED. IT WAS SO STRONG. IT ACTUALLY GAVE ME A HEADACHE. I can't be around weed and was already frustrated and now I had to go to work possibly smelling like I just partook in a bit of a morning wake and bake. I asked to check out and asked for my receipt and I was told there was no receipt for me that he already told me I could get it at check out in the morning .Umm yeah that's what I'm doing I'm checking out I'd like my receipt. He replied there is no manager here to give you one as I told you last night it would be ready in the morning. I don't know what time frame 5:30 am is but that's morning. I looked at both of them and just said this is f*&$(+g ridiculous and I walked out. Oh and no breakfast was up yet, maybe I was early? Maybe they don't do Breakfast anymore because the area was blocked off in the lobby. I did call choice customer service and opened a formal complaint. In the below pictures of the hair dryer you can see my already bandage finger as I took these once I got back in the room just incase they tried to say I broke it. I swear if I could have gotten a full refund I would have gone somewhere else at that point. I realized it is not in the best part of Houston but come on this was a bit much.

Hi Dear Guest,The number of guest in reservation said 1 guest. At the time of check in you have 2 adults and 2 kids. The incidental deposit is $50 per person, $100 is for 2 adults. It is the policy of the hotel published on all website.We have simp[athy for you but we cannot bend the rule for you.Respectfully, read the terms and condition before you reserve the room, additionally falsify the number of guests info is breaking the rule of the hotel.Regards amd Thank you very much.GM
