The San Antonio park system website states that this park is open and even lists the hours it is open. THIS PARK IS CLOSED, UNMOWN AND LOCKED PERMANENTLY WITH A CHAIN AND PADLOCK. I wasted a long car trip to visit a place I couldn't get into.

This place, originally called Quinta Urrutia, preserves some of the many works of art that were especially made together with his good taste and his enormous pride in his homeland, Mexico, specifically Xochimilco. It would be wonderful if its greatness could be rescued for the delight of new generations.

Gate is pretty but it is in early stage of redevelopment so not much to see at this point in 4/2023.

you can see the intricate archway from the road. It was designed in ~1920 by a Mexican doctor and indigenous culture enthusiast. I wish they would move forward with repairing and making this accessible to the public. It has great potential as a public park or memorial.

Dr. Urrutia created a magical place called Miraflores. It was a place where people came to enjoy the interplay of water features and monuments created by some of the most talented artists that came from Mexico. Now the city of San Antonio has an opportunity to revive this location to honor Dr. Urrutias vision and the Mexican artistic culture that shaped and influenced our beloved city. I hope that the City of San Antonio Parks department is cognizant of the treasure it holds in its hands to restore certain aspects of the original design to bring back the magic and cultural experience of Miraflores!
