This place is excellent and I know this place very well!! Beth and Steve are absolutely wonderful and the staff is top class. I have worked here, I have been married here and I take my son here every year to shoot a trophy whitetail buck. He has shot 4 bucks here and all are mounted on my wall. This place is a hidden jewel. Thanks for everything. The Steffeks

Although our stay was several years ago; this great place was a pleasure. My Wife actually spent part of her childhood on Knolle Farms Dairy, where her Dad was a Herdsman. As this is an actual Farm/Ranch adjacent to a Dairy Farm; one should expect domestic & native animals of various sorts. The buildings are not new, but are CLEAN and properly equipped. Beth is a great & highly skilled hostess. If you seek activities, several are available but should be arranged with some notice. Life is slow in the Texas Outback; no crowds, ferris wheels, boom boxes, traffic jams, etc. The Nueces River below the dam is peaceful, scenic, & loaded with wildlife. Routine farm & ranch activities can be observed. This is a wildlife oasis and sits on a major migratory pathway for all sorts of birds. Ive never hunted on this property, but hunted numerous times in the immediate area; doves are plentiful, quail are abundant. Dont miss this jewel of a B&B ! Rick I read a negative review and just dont believe it. This is a unique treasure of a place and a super value. Rick

Although our last visit was a decade back, we both were familiar for many years.  This ranch is about half of the Knolle Farms Dairy operation, and still includes a neighboring working dairy. This area is in the green part of central South Texas, where costal plains begin to give way to rolling hills.  It is a grassland with mixed hardwood forests along the lower Nueces River drainages.  The place is beautiful, full of all sorts of native wildlife, and numerous bird species.Lodging is in converted dairy operations buildings, comfortably furnished and air-conditioned.   Weather is almost tropical with hot breezy Summers and mild Winters interspersed by brief cold fronts.Nearby attractions include Lake Corpus Christi @ Mathis (visible from parts of the ranch), North Padre & Mustang Islands, Texas State Aquarium, some of the world's largest petroleum refineries, and the beautiful Corpus Christi City & Bay.  King Ranch is less than an hour away.   Padre Island National seashore is a treasure, with gigantic dunes and uncrowded down-island beaches.  Dove & quail hunting are the continent's best; and deer, hogs, javelina, etc. abound.  Freshwater, inshore salt, coastal, flats, and offshore fishing is excellent year 'round. The Mexican Border at Brownsville/South Padre, McAllen/Hidalgo, & Laredo is less than 3 hours; San Antonio is a similar distance. When last there, the ranch owner served us a great mesquite charcoal grilled steak; don't forget this is. a Cattle Ranch. This is a lovely place in so many ways.Rick
