If you value your vision, and your eyes, dont risk it! Typically, I do not leave negative reviews, but I feel with the experience I had here its necessary to warn others. After wearing new contacts for a month, I went back per Johns request to check the fitting. Everything was great until then. John removes contacts for his patients, when removing mine he was unable to get it out on the first try, then became visibly angry, shoving his fingers in to my eye to remove the contact, it was so hard it pressed my head against the chairs headrest and his fingers jammed in to my eye. There was no immediate pain, but suddenly I had blurry vision for about an hour. For months I have been left with severe eye pain, extreme sensitivity to light, and painful visual accommodation between near and far distances. Another optometrist was able to confirm uveitis, which usually follows blunt trauma to the eye. Some of the problems are still ongoing, and my vision seems off. I have always done everything to protect my good eye because the other is uncorrectable. Never in my life would have thought to need safety glasses for an eye exam. John denied removing the contact forcefully and even got upset again when I refused a second fluorescein exam. Also, Jana Lee was always very rude, inconsiderate, condescending, and just all around difficult to talk to. For anyone considering Ackerson Eye Care, dont risk it, and please, never let anyone put their fingers in your eye unless necessary.

I've been a loyal patient of Dr. Ackerson since 2006, and I couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care he's provided over the years. His expertise and high-tech equipment played a crucial role in diagnosing a health issue, and I appreciate his dedication to my well-being. Dr. Ackerson's professionalism and commitment to his patients make him an outstanding eye doctor, and I look forward to continuing to entrust my eye care to his capable hands. Thank you, Dr. Ackerson, for your excellent service!
