I am a custom integrator who designs and implements high end custom systems for our clients. Recently one of our clients purchased a home built in 2019. We went in there to update/change a few things to suit their needs. We discovered a TruAudio subwoofer amp had gone bad. Went to the website to check warranty eligibility. It says those amps have a FIVE year warranty. Awesome. Since the house was built in 2019, there's no way the amp could be any older than that. Call in to verify and get the process started. I was told they needed to know exactly which company purchased the amp even though we had the model and serial number for them. There was no other way they could process the warranty claim without the actual receipt or purchase order. I contacted the real estate agent and got the info then called back. They said they would check and get back to me. A little while later, I get a text saying they did in fact find the receipt from the company, but their supervisor would not approve the claim because the warranty only extends to the original dealer or homeowner regardless of timeframe. Bottomline that tells me this company does NOT stand behind their products. Their employees clearly think the amp would be covered otherwise why ask for all the other info only to get rejected by upper management. Also, who makes a $2000 subwoofer amp that dies within five years? The current unit lived in a well ventilated rack with the fan always on. We sell a TON of amps every year. My advice, buy a different brand. Everyone makes them. Most of them stand behind their products and have significantly better warranty policies.
