Its taken me a few months to find the words for this review. My wedding was in December 2023, and in June 2023, I started calling around to get an idea of the cost and availability for alterations on my dress. I spoke with Sharon and she advised that I wouldnt need to see her until mid to late September based on my wedding date. We discussed what I thought needed to be done, which was just a hem because my dress fit me perfectly at the time of purchase (about 9 months prior). I remember getting off the call and telling my bridesmaids how much I enjoyed our chat. I found Sharon to be funny and kind. Unfortunately, when I arrived for my appointment in September, I was met with someone who was cold and truly hurtful. She offered me no help getting into my gown and when I asked her to zip me up, she told me without empathy that my dress didnt fit. She said multiple times that I would need a miracle. I was about 70 days from my wedding at that point and absolutely devastated. She offered me no alternatives, told me she couldnt do anything for me, and said I should probably just leave. I gathered my things and left, called my friend and wasnt really sure what to do. The next day I went to that friends house so that I could put on the dress and we could determine how big of a gap there was and what could be done by another seamstress to make this dress work, because Sharon had advised that the gap was several inches. My friend was able to zip up my dress without any hesitation. I do believe that Sharon didnt want to work with me or even touch me because I am a bigger person. She never attempted to zip my dress. I do appreciate that she excused herself from this project, my wedding, and my life. I hope she reads this and is embarrassed. I hope she finds some compassion and mostly, I hope this review helps another bigger bodied person from experiencing what I did.
