Middlebury Interactive Languages

This program is absolutely horrible. If you want to actually learn a language, stay as far away to MIL as possible. My experience taking this course was so terrible. I learned practically nothing from this. The course is terribly designed, outdated, and unhelpful in every way possible. Learning Chinese through this program was horrendous. It would often show you parts of the language, then never show it again, but then test you on that unreviewed material. There are so many more problems than this that I could list out, but that would take way too much of both my own time and whoevers reading this time. In summary, this course fails you, you dont fail it. Do not take this. If you are a school deciding on an online language corse to give to your students, do not give them this one. They will all fail.

I have never been more bored trying to learn a language than when trying this program. I hate it with a burning passion, and will continue to until the day I die. this app doesn't even deserve 1 star, it deserves none.

(if you don't like reading, skip to the end) I have been using Middlebury since Fall of 2020, for my Mandarin Classes. Every lesson is the exact same formatting (except 4 lessons, the midterms and finals of each semester, which are all the same as the other anyways) to the point where it gets boring and repetitive. 34 lessons in, not once have I memorized any of the vocabulary, unless I already learned it before Middlebury. The method of "teaching", which involves showing the vocabulary a few times and expecting us to memorize it is ineffective, and not "Interactive" as the title of this service/product says. And for the activities, they're just guessing games. There is no motivation to actually put effort into it, to the point where I put the answers in randomly and hope RNG is on my side. In Conclusion: You don't learn from this program. Don't waste your money on it.
