Absolutely appalled at the way Jewish students are treated on this campus. I hope the title VI investigation leads to major changes.

I was shocked to learn about the abhorrent, discriminatory treatment of Jewish students at Middlebury College. It is unacceptable that Middleburys commitment to diversity and inclusion does not extend to Jews. According to a recently filed Title VI complaint against Middlebury, the administration shows disparate treatment of Jewish students, has attempted to silence students reporting antisemitism on campus, enabled retaliatory harassment against a Jewish student documenting antisemitic speech, and has continuously refused to recognize Chabad as an on-campus student organizationfor baseless reasons. It is unconscionable that Jewish students should be denied equal treatment at Middlebury. Middlebury College must take immediate action to fulfill its obligations under Title VI, determine how such blatant discrimination was allowed, remedy this wrongdoing, and take steps to prevent such hostile treatment in the future. More specifically, I call upon your administration to halt the baseless disciplinary proceedings against at least one student who spoke about antisemitic speech; immediately recognize Chabad as a student organization and give it to full access to university resources; fully investigate all incidents of antisemitic behavior outlined in the Title VI filing; and ensure that the College enforce its own policies.
