As a middle-aged person, who had never done martial arts as a child, I had never considered that I could start at my age. After some encouragement from some fellow adults about a year ago, I went to my first class on April 4, 2023. Even when things were difficult, and I was trying to figure out what my body was supposed to do, I still had fun, and couldn't wait to go to the next class. I have gained a lot of strength, learned new skills, and found community among my fellow students, who are a very diverse group in age, race, size, and shape. Shihan Romero is a tough but kind, and extremely patient, teacher. Seichou Karate is keeping me sane in the midst of work stress, life challenges, etc. I am very grateful to have found it.

Our 8 year old has enjoyed Seichou Karate for the past two years. The program goes above and beyond physical activity, by encouraging stamina, focus, attention to detail, discipline, hard work, and instilling personal responsibility. We love Seichou Karate and absolutely recommend it.

Today is my one year anniversary training at Seichou Karate and I am so thankful for this wonderful dojo! Shihan Romero is an incredibly skilled teacher and cares a lot about the success and well being of his students. The dojo comes with a community of likeminded, kind, and caring people to help you along the way. It is a beautiful blend of martial arts and Japanese culture and tradition. I appreciate being able to learn karate within that context. I am incredibly grateful for all of the growth and positivity this dojo has brought to my life and highly recommend giving it a try if you're interested in training or learning martial arts at any age!

I started at Seichou Karate in 2009. However, after a brief hiatus, I was able to come back to Seichou Karate, and restart at the high of the pandemic by taking virtual classes thanks to the dedication Shihan Romero has with his students. Shihan Romero's expertise in Japanese Karate, culture, and language creates the perfect environment and a well-rounded karate school. In addition to karate, you can learn Japanese calligraphy and celebrate Japanese traditions. Shihan Romero and his excellent group of teachers, who have been personally trained by him, impart Seichou Karate classes. They make sure students reach excellency in their skills including basic form, movement patterns, and fighting techniques before taking their promotion tests which happen twice a year. Seichou Karate is the place where I found grounding, increased my focus, and every single time class ends I am a happier person and look forward to my next class.
