Definitely recommend The Approachable Accountant because that what they literally are! Their name says it ALL!!! Karen has helped me in multiple situations and was very patient while making sure I understood every detail! You can Definitely see the passion she has for her job! I will actually be changing my business and personal account to them due to these experiences and will recommend anyone and EVERYONE to them from now on!!! Thank you for all your help!!

Always very knowledgeable and the process is very easy to navigate. The Approachable Accountant has managed to save my family not just money but also the yearly headache of navigating tax forms.

Unfortunately, my experience is similar to other bad reviews that have recently been posted. Short story is I definitely do not recommend this company for taxes for small business. She is extremely unresponsive even for busy tax time. My thoughts are that she took on more than she could handle this tax season. My husband and I are newly small business owners who went to Karen for our taxes. We found her late into the tax season so we knew we were asking a lot by asking her to do our taxes in the peak season. After filling out the information in her system, I waited patiently to hear from her on asking for additional info. After about a month went by, I reached out and she let me know I hadnt completed all the information needed. I will own the fact that this was due to my lack of detailed reading. Weirdly enough I had also not heard from her before I reached to say I was missing anything. Nor had the system indicated I was missing key docs. The next day she sent out a generic email that Im assuming went to all clients about her being busy as we are days away from the tax filing deadline and that she would send information if an extension was needed. I had already asked her to file an extension so I was waiting for an email from her but never got one. So hours before the deadline, I figure out how to request an extension and filed it myself. I then waiting about 3-4 weeks after the tax filing deadline to see if Karen would reach out. She did not. I then made the decision to move on and sent a polite message saying so along with requesting a refund since to my knowledge she hadnt done any work for us (after all, I hadnt provided all my docs). She responded a few days later and denied my refund of my deposit because she had filed the extension and done initial data entry with the information I did submit. The deposit isnt worth my time to continue to have any contact with her so Im moving on. I should have gone with my gut after she took weeks to send me the agreement and invoice for the deposit following our initial introduction. However, I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she was busy due to peek tax season. I had hopes that this would work out, but I was so wrong. After all of this, I still need my taxes done.

Karen is extremely thorough and is gives great attention to detail. I appreciate the extra time given to me and her knowledge of complicated business payroll taxes.
